Program Details

We are looking for practical, experienced and independent volunteers to help us improve and maintain our family mountain property in Saylla, around one hour from Cusco.

Ideally, we would like to host two volunteers at the same time, so they can work together and help each other with practical tasks. Friends or couples travelling together are very welcome.

This is a long-term family project. The current focus is cleaning, organizing, maintaining and gradually improving the outdoor areas, including terraces, paths, stairs and gardens.

The photos in this listing show the property as it is now and give you a good idea of the type of work that is currently needed:
- Clearing weeds and overgrown vegetation from paths, stairs and terraces.
- Cleaning and organizing outdoor spaces.
- Sorting and organizing stones, roof tiles, wood and other reusable materials.
- Improving garden areas and maintaining plants.
- Carrying out minor repairs and simple woodwork.
- Suggesting practical DIY improvements to make the property more organized, functional and welcoming.

As I am not currently living in Cusco, we will agree on priorities and suitable projects remotely, according to the needs of the property and your own practical skills.

We especially appreciate people who can work independently, identify useful improvements and communicate clearly about their progress.

The schedule is flexible: approximately 5 hours per day, 4 days per week, with 3 full days off. You can choose your preferred working days and days off, and we will agree on a schedule together before your stay

Breakfast and lunch are included on working days. Dinner is not included.

If you have a valid driving licence and are comfortable driving, a car can be available for your personal use during your stay

Activities & Shift

Activities and shifts

We ask for approximately 20 hours of help per week, spread over 4 days (around 5 hours per day).

The schedule is flexible! You can share your preferred working days and days off, and we will agree on a schedule together before your stay. You will have 3 full days off per week to explore Cusco and the surrounding region or simply relax.

Your skills and ideas matter!

The activities will depend on the current needs of the property and your practical skills and experience.

We don't expect you to know how to do everything. If you have experience in carpentry, gardening, landscaping, painting, masonry or another practical skill, we can choose projects that make good use of your abilities.

We especially appreciate volunteers who can look at a space, identify useful improvements and suggest realistic projects that can be completed during their stay.

Ideally, we would like to host two volunteers at the same time, so you can help each other with practical tasks and work together on small projects. Friends and couples travelling together are very welcome.

We will agree on priorities remotely and stay in touch throughout your stay to discuss ideas, answer questions and follow the progress.
