We are a small Belgian & Malagasy (from Madagascar) family living on a small island (Itamaraca) off the coast of Pernambuco in North East Brazil (an hour drive from Recife), and we are running apartment rentals in a luxurious condo directly on the beach. We are looking for volunteers to help us run our business (mostly cleaning, general maintenance), and take care of our son Lenny. He loves painting, stars and everything that shines.
25 hours of help per week
Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.
Handyman: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
Teaching Languages: Teach a language to guests or local communities.
Child Care: Help look after, educate and instruct children.
2 days off per week
Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.
Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Our job is to rent apartments for short and mid-term stays on a small and quiet island.
As there is no restaurant here, we don't offer meals, but we offer access to the kitchen and some basic ingredients (flour, olive oil, spices), and there is usually home made bread.
Volunteers usually stay in my house, in a charming old brasilian house in front of the Manga Verde Residence, a street away from the beach. There is a big garden, kitchen, and dining room. I have 3 dogs. It is an old and simple house but it has a very nice soul. Private rooms and bathrooms. There is a mosquito net on each bed. Volunteers also have access to the pool in the condo, provided that they use it reasonably (no music, and loud / splash games in the pool and common areas) and give priority to our guests.
The volunteering work is about cleaning the apartments (we have a high cleaning standard for our guests so we do require a lot of attention to detail and professionalism), playing with and taking care of our son (8 years old at present - 2021), he is very creative boy, loves stories and inventing them. He has a lot of imagination and likes to play with people who also have a lot of imagination. He is fluent in 4 languages: spanish, portuguese, french and english), helping around the house and doing some maintenance work in the apartments.
Work assignments for workawayers depend on the nb of volunteers we have and the bookings we receive. We send a draft of the work planning on a weekly basis.
Volunteers need to keep all common areas and their rooms clean at all times.
Volunteers need to clean their room and bathroom before leaving, for the next person coming.
Work is 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. The 2 free days depend on the booking schedule.
It is important that volunteers respect the work timing. If you finish tasks earlier, you may be asked to do maintenance/cleaning work around the house/garden.
No smoking in the house.
