The Experience

We are a small Belgian & Malagasy (from Madagascar) family living on a small island (Itamaraca) off the coast of Pernambuco in North East Brazil (an hour drive from Recife), and we are running apartment rentals in a luxurious condo directly on the beach. We are looking for volunteers to help us run our business (mostly cleaning, general maintenance), and take care of our son Lenny. He loves painting, stars and everything that shines.

AConsejo a todos este voluntariado , sobretodo a las parejas que aman el mar y la tranquilidad... Stefanie (la anfitriona) es una persona maravillosa,sabía ,simpatica y atenta a todo , siempre nos a echo sentir cómodos... Estoy muy agradecido, el lugar es muy limpio y cómodo( además los quartos tienen aire condicionado ) El trabajo no es duro y la mayoría de las veces se termina antes de lo pactado...

La experiencia fue hermosa! Stephanie es una mujer muy especial. Se aprende en la convivencia solo de compartir y observar. El pan de masa madre aún no me sale bien pero me encanto intentar! 😊 Los tres cachorros son super educados y son valiosa compañía en el parque. La casa de verdad tiene alma. Los horarios son siempre respetados y al terminar la tarea asignada del día, en general, se puede descansar. Destacamos mucho la habitación donde dormimos. Super limpia, aire acondicionado en la habitación para descansar a la noche. Adoramos. Super recomendado. Gracias!!

Stephanie é uma pessoa incrível e só de ter conhecido ela já valeu a experiência! Aprendi muito sobre culinária vegana, limpeza e organização e também tive tempo de sobra para curtir a praia mas preferi o quintal de baixo do pé da pousada na companhia das 3 cachorrinhas que dividem a casa conosco. O Lenny, filho dela, é uma criança muito amável, divertida e cheio de energia jogamos vários jogos de tabuleiros em francês juntos (que ele ganhou de mim sem do)! Foi uma experiência maravilhosa e eu super recomendo a estadia ☺️

Voluntariar na pousada foi surreal, um mês que passou voando. A Stephanie é uma ótima anfitriã, me senti em casa! Mal saí de lá e já estou com saudades de todos, aprendi muito em todas áreas possíveis, uma experiência para levar para vida, realmente é difícil achar palavras para descrever tudo que vivi esse tempo na ilha de Itamaracá. O voluntariado na pousada foi uma experiência que recomendamos mil vezes. O lugar é lindo, bem tranquilo, fica de frente à praia e além disso, Stephanie é uma pessoa amável, cordial e empática, assim como seu filho, Lenny, que é um amor. Na casa há 3 cachorras que roubam seu coração assim que você as conhece. O local fica um pouco longe do centro, onde ficam os supermercados, mas tem trenzinho, kombis e carros que te levam por 3 reais. Há mercadinhos nas proximidades também. Nós definitivamente voltaríamos se tivéssemos a chance.
