The Experience

We are a small Belgian & Malagasy (from Madagascar) family living on a small island (Itamaraca) off the coast of Pernambuco in North East Brazil (an hour drive from Recife), and we are running apartment rentals in a luxurious condo directly on the beach. We are looking for volunteers to help us run our business (mostly cleaning, general maintenance).

Staying with Stephanie and helping her on the inn was an incredible enriching experience. Definitely a highly recommended option if it's your first time volunteering like us. The location was perfect to get in touch with Brazilian nature and their people. Near to Recife city which offers you a huge culture variety and activities.

We had such a wonderful time staying on Itamaracá with Stephanie, Lenny and the dogs! We already miss it very much. Staying on the island was so peaceful and it was great to recharge. I worked in the apartments, which Stephanie showed me how to clean. The two other ladies working on the cleaning team, Mercia and Gabriela, were also so lovely. My partner was working remotely, so it was very kind of Stephanie to let us both stay! In the last two weeks another volunteer, Gabby, joined us too which was great. I would 100% recommend staying here, Stephanie is the best host 😁 Thank you so much🥰

Não tenho palavras pra descrever o quão especial foi essa experiência. Foi uma sorte e um prazer imenso ter conhecido Stephanie e Lenny, que entre risadas, comidas gostosas e jogos nos receberam tão bem. Se pudesse, daria uma nota maior aqui pela plataforma! As 3 cachorrinhas são uns amores também. O trabalho é puxado porque é minucioso e o apartamento é grande, mas depois que se pega o ritmo, consegue terminar antes das horas acordadas e fica livre. A cozinha compartilhada é bem equipada e o quarto privativo é confortável. Dica: faça a trilha dos holandeses até vila velha. Gratidão por tudo❤

Umas das melhores experiências que tivemos até agora fazendo mochilão pelo Brasil. A Stéphane é incrível e tivemos a oportunidade de conhecer ela e seu filho (incrível também) no tempo que passamos aqui. O trabalho é tranquilo e uma ótima oportunidade de aprendizado que pode ser levado pra vida. Limpávamos um apartamento por dia e depois ficávamos livres o restante do dia. A ilha é muito grande e tem algumas opções lugares para conhecer. Recomendamos a trilha do Holandeses. Tem transporte publico e alguns mercados próximos. Tragam repelente rs. Recomendamos demais essa experiência.
