The hostel backpacker was my first volunteering experience and it was so good. The staff is really nice and helpful with the tasks you have to do. They also recommended a lot of places in Siquijor and went on tours with us. the hostel is a chill, social and sharing hostel. Would go back for sure!

Hello ^^ I spent two wonderful weeks at the hostel! A truly incredible, unforgettable, and completely unique experience! It was my first time volunteering, and I'm so happy to have started this adventure here 😽😽 I want to thank David for welcoming me to his team 🤘. I was in charge of painting, and it was such a great activity, super fun, I loved doing it! During my stay, there were many other volunteers, the atmosphere was amazing, I had so much fun, I know I'm going to miss this place for a very long time 😭🌟 Thank you so much for having me, I will definitely be back!

I absolutely loved my time at barefoot ! The hostel is so chill and cozy, and I got to meet so many great people (locals and other volunteers). The hours and workload were super chill and the vibe is great ! The island is absolutely stunning and there are often tours offered by the barefoot family to show guests and volunteers the islands hidden gems and best kept secrets.
I spent an insane two weeks there and hope to come again asap !!!!!

The hostel became a second home to me - it attracts all the best people, in terms of guests and most importantly the hostel staff and 'family' who are around alongside David. The working hours are reasonable, and can change up day-by-day so be prepared to be a bit flexible (not hard to do) and get ready for a few weeks of exploring one of the best places with some of the most fun people I've met backpacking. Like any good hostel, it can be noisy at night, but bring earplugs and you'll be fine. Miss this place already.

It was my first time volunteering, and it was just amazing! I really enjoyed my three weeks here and made lots of great memories ;) The other volunteers were soo cool, and the staff and the “family” were also nice. The common room is especially worth mentioning, perfect for socialized or playing games. However my job was cleaning, and there weren't many cleaning supplies; and no one really showed me what I was supposed to do during my first shift alone. The volunteer room is okay but it's not a real dorm (no AC) so it can be warm, but it's just a detail. I'm gonna miss this place ;)

The island of Siquijor is magnificent, life on an island has its advantages and disadvantages, but remains a real dream. The tasks proposed by David are simple and varied. I had a very nice experience with the other volunteers and met many wonderful people.

It has been my first volunteer experience and I have stayed a few more days here. I am clear that I am going back. I love Siquijor.
David is not demanding with the work and gives you creative freedom. And he is very close and has the ability to create a fun environment where everyone feels integrated.
There is a very delicious restaurant. It is the perfect place to make friends and create souvenirs. If what you are looking for is to socialize, both with locals and internationals. You will enjoy exploring the island together and going out partying.
Not for you if you are a picky person :)
