Program Details

ATTENTION! To start with:
This is not a position at the circus hotel in Malmö. It is located in the country side, and it is a project of building a castle! Now you can go on reading ...

We will build together from 8 am til afternoon, with a break for lunch. The work will mostly consist in laying bricks och preparing mortar, or cutting/cleaning bricks. We work as a team and I take great notice in creating a nice and welcoming atmosphere in the team.

Persons with previous building experiences are most welcome, however you are free to apply even if you are just interested in buildings and want to learn more how it works. If you are more into cooking that could also be of interest for us.

The castle is being built in our old farm in the county of Blekinge in the south east of Sweden, and there are already two houses and two caravans for you to stay in. You can ask for a separate bedroom and we will try to arrange that, but some of you might have to share a bedroom, but with a separate beds of course.

When the work is done for the day you can stay at the farm to hang out or go exploring in the forest or the nearby towns. We prepare all meals and eat together, but you are of course free to go away to eat if you want to.

At the farm there is a lake where you can go fishing, or canoeing. There is also a nice forest where you can hike och go searching for mushrooms.

There are nearby towns with shops and bars, but they are only accessable with car or bicycle for half an hour. We will pick up and leave at the train station that you can reach in 2 hours from Copenhagen Airport.

Activities & Shift

You will take part in the team to mix mortar, clean and carry salvaged bricks and also to lay them. I will lead the team, and sometimes my friends will join too. Some days we will hire a professional brick layer to teatch us the special technics. We provide overalls and gloves but you have to bring your own working shoes. Trainers will not be enough.

Rules

Take care of you, your friends and the nature. Stay safe and enjoy the spirit of the team work.
Also! We cook and serve vegetarian food.
