I couldn't say enough great things about the hostel! This was my first experience volunteering with Worldpackers, and... ESTABA SARPADO! It surpassed all of my expectations! Thank you to Pablo, Seba, and Flor for welcoming me and letting me join your family for a short time. the hostel feels like a home away from home, and I could not be more grateful for the time I got to share with you all. For anyone looking to volunteer in Bariloche, to go trekking in the mountains of Patagonia, and to meet people from all over the world—it's the hostel all the way!

The living situation was far from what I expected, very crowded and farther away from the hostel then originally communicated. Everything else was fine but unfortunately this opportunity did not work out for me. The owner of the hostal was not willing to hear an explanation from me on why I had missed a shift and simply "fired" me. Which is understandable but I did not feel like I had the chance to be a part of the team. It also seemed in the short time I was there that the volunteers would work longer than there shift quite frequently.

Hi, how are you? Regarding the place where the volunteers stay, this had been communicated previously before arrival. In that regard I am very precise about communicating it prior to a volunteer's arrival. If the volunteers stay longer, it's by their decision; sometimes they stay longer because they sort things out among themselves or simply because they enjoy being at the hostel. In any case I tried to contact you that day to find out what had happened (and your colleagues as well), but we could never manage to do it. We view all experiences as a way to improve in every aspect, and if your experience wasn't very good or wasn't what you expected, we will work from the Hostel to improve, but we also hope it serves you as experience for other opportunities. Good luck on your journey!!

Flor and Pablo make you feel part of their family from the start, it feels like you always knew each other and not like a newcomer.Their daughter Emma is always curious to get to know the volunteers and blas is always a fun soul to hang around and watch him talk trough dance. Workwise, you rarely work alone, the tasks are simple from making bread and jams to check ins/outs. Every week or so there's an asado accompanied by a guitar. If you're vegan, Pablo will surprise you with some tasty meals. I stayed for 1 month and would definitely extend if I had the time. #achalayesfamilia

My stay in the hostel is such a memorable experience! Everything described on the worldpackers page was followed and provided. The owners are very hospitable and I as volunteer had a lot of free time to explore the city and its surroundings. I enjoyed learning about the hostels work, share meals, prepare food for breakfast and socialize with the guests. The hostel is in the center and has everything you need. If you go to Bariloche, only the hostel!

At first I was a little nervous cause it was going to be my first experience volunteering in a hostel and it exceeded my expectations. Pablo the owner and his wife treated me like family, they made feel like home. I was taught everything I needed to know about reception, I learned how to make the bread and jams for breakfast cause the goal of this hostel is to make feel the guests like home. Pablo gave me and my coworkers the trust to run his hostel during our shifts and I discovered my passion about cooking. I've made friends that will last forever. So THANKS PABLO.

Being a volunteer in the hostel is honestly a great experience! I'm staying longer than my plan due to the nice enviroment, the people and the place itself. Pablo and Florencia really make us feel like part of this home that the hostel is. As a volunteer I'm working as the ad said, 32 hours a week in the recepcionist, welcoming the guest, preparing bread for breakfast, making sure everything in the hostel is working propertly, and of course, having fun!! Sometimes we prepare dinners for guest and staff, we cook together, share some asado and participate in tours. Its GREAT!

My first volunteering experience, I carry this experience and these memories in my heart. I met travelers from different countries, practiced languages, tasted foods from different cultures, and enjoyed managing the hostel Achalay's social media.
Pablo, Flor, and Seba welcomed me in a very lovely way; the meals were always varied, and the agreed schedules were kept.
I would choose them many more times.
I plan to return soon; if you want to feel part of a family, come to Achalay ♥️🌍

With total sincerity, spending two months at the hostel was the best volunteer experience I've had in my life so far. The hostel is truly family; you feel at home, and a relationship based entirely on trust and tranquility is formed, which is priceless.
Thank you for opening the doors to their house for me; someday I will return to continue sharing laughter, hugs, music, and delicious meals.
I love you all very much! ❤️
