Program Details

Our building is a 25 room "retired" hospital/school. We have 80 beds, 6 kitchens, 25 bathrooms, 15 showers, a library, a game/theater room, lounge and a reception area. Everything in town is within walking distance and many people walk or ride bikes around town.

Activities & Shift

You would be helping one of three shifts each day on a rotating basis.

Morning shift volunteers help from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. You will unlock doors, turn on lights, check guests out, strip beds, clean rooms, and start the laundry.

Afternoon Shift from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm you will help empty the trash, clean the bathrooms and kitchens. Then work on beautification projects like painting, building, cleaning, decorating.

Evening volunteering work from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm. You would help prepare the evening meal for the family and staff, fold laundry, and watch for guests to arrive and checks them in.

It doesn't take that long to do the work but we need someone in the building at all times so you are "On Watch" for those hours. It is actually quite relaxed and you have time each day to explore, hike, and meet new people.

You will get scheduled days off every week. We are very flexible
