I had an absolutely wonderful time staying here! From the very beginning, you feel right at home thanks to the cozy atmosphere and the amazing people you get to work with. The tasks are typical hostel stuff - cleaning, helping out at reception, and interacting with guests , and I genuinely enjoyed all of it. You'll also have plenty of free time to explore all the nearby beaches, go hiking, or get to know Genoa better. It's a bit of an underrated city, but really beautiful and full of character. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd definitely recommend it! ❤️

Volunteering at the hostel was one of the best things that happened to me. It was my first experience, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I instantly felt welcomed. It felt like being part of a big family. The hosts were incredibly kind, open, and supportive and the other volunteers were very nice. It was great to meet people from different backgrounds and share our experiences together. Everything was well organised, and the shifts were respected as agreed, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I am grateful for my time at the hostel, I highly recommand it!

I had a really great time at Victoria House. The location of the hostel is very convenient, a supermarket right down the street, a train station close and a lot of the city can be reached through walking. The hostel is nice and clean and the other volunteers were incredibly nice and always willing to help out. Some of the shifts contain a lot of cleaning, which can be annoying, but still manageable. Overall the hostel is not very big, which gives it a very homey feeling, like an apartment even. I can definitely recommend this host if you want to stay in Italy!

I cannot imagine a better first volunteering experience than this one! The hostel is placed in a great location, a few minutes away from several grocery stores and the historical centre, so you can go explore most of the city on foot easily. The managing team was lovely, witch each one of the managers trying to help volunteers as much as they could. The working hours were respected, giving you plenty of free time, the job itself was pretty easy (basic cleaning + reception work). Luckily other volunteers were really nice, forming a great team. Thank you the hostel, I will never forget you!

The hostel is well located and the weekly hours were respected.
What you should know is that the hostel doesn't employ any worker beside the volunteers, so we do eveything. This means you are expected to clean like a professional because no one else will do it.
I reminded the hostel that Worldpackers is a platform for cultural exchange and not a way to get unpaid workers to increase profits ... So I expect they might say some negative things about me, but I prefer to speak honestly.
Overall, I don't recommend this experience because the benefits are simply not worth the work required.

My experience at the hostel was great! From the beggining I felt welcoming by Marco, Mateo, Guilio Manuel and Rabbi. The hostel athmosphere is social, warm and quite. The tasks are well definied and schedule is respected. Also if you need to do changes, they are very flexible. The hostel is well located (only 5min walking from Brignole Station and 30min from Principe Station). Genova is a beutiful city with incredible views! Totally recommend! TANTE GRAZIE :D

I had an amazing time at the hostel, it truly became a home for me! The volunteering work was fair and as agreed, and the hostel was a great place to meet people from all over the world. Genoa is also a beautiful city with so much to do in and around the area. I'm so grateful to the other volunteers and the managers who created a welcoming space for me during my six weeks there :)
