Victoria House

First rule to stay at the Victoria House: you gotta have a good time! :)
As we really try to be a super friendly team, our goal is to teach you how to work properly at the reception, welcome guests and do a good cleaning of the place.
Making everyone feel welcome and comfortable is strictly needful.

Our volunteers are hosted in a private dorm, having access to kitchen facilities, laundry service, excellent wi-fi, basic stuff for cooking.
Helping in a tiny hostel means getting really in touch with people from all over the world and also improving your english and italian a lot.

I had a great time at the hostel. A very cozy hostel with a nice atmosphere. Very flexible with the schedules, so I could explore the surroundings. The tasks are very simple and easy to understand. Very happy and I would recommend it to everyone. I stayed for a month, but it's a place where you can stay longer. There are other volunteers at the same time and the owners are very nice! Thank you very much for the opportunity!

Volunteering at the hostel was a great surprise! The four managers are very kind and welcoming. The volunteers are very friendly and help a lot to clear up questions related to the work. The work is calm and most of the time there is some of the managers to assist. The hostel is lovely and comfortable. It is very well located in Genoa. I recommend to everyone who wants to get to know the charming Genoa better and other regions of Italy! A big hug to everyone from the hostel!

I had an absolutely wonderful time staying here! From the very beginning, you feel right at home thanks to the cozy atmosphere and the amazing people you get to work with. The tasks are typical hostel stuff - cleaning, helping out at reception, and interacting with guests , and I genuinely enjoyed all of it. You'll also have plenty of free time to explore all the nearby beaches, go hiking, or get to know Genoa better. It's a bit of an underrated city, but really beautiful and full of character. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd definitely recommend it! ❤️

Volunteering at the hostel was one of the best things that happened to me. It was my first experience, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I instantly felt welcomed. It felt like being part of a big family. The hosts were incredibly kind, open, and supportive and the other volunteers were very nice. It was great to meet people from different backgrounds and share our experiences together. Everything was well organised, and the shifts were respected as agreed, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I am grateful for my time at the hostel, I highly recommand it!

The hostel is well located and the weekly hours were respected.
What you should know is that the hostel doesn't employ any worker beside the volunteers, so we do eveything. This means you are expected to clean like a professional because no one else will do it.
I reminded the hostel that Worldpackers is a platform for cultural exchange and not a way to get unpaid workers to increase profits ... So I expect they might say some negative things about me, but I prefer to speak honestly.
Overall, I don't recommend this experience because the benefits are simply not worth the work required.
