The Experience

Our volunteers will have the opportunity to practise Portuguese and English, enjoy surfing, yoga and other ocean activities, and discover the beautiful beaches of the region. As part of the experience, we invite volunteers to take part in the daily life of the house and occasionally lend a hand with general organisation, preparing rooms, welcoming guests and sharing local information. It was my first time volunteering and the whole experience was perfect! The work is not hard at all, it doesn't take much and you get to have plenty of free time to do whatever you want: surfing, going to cafes or just chilling at the beach. Bruno has been an amazing host, very welcoming and always open to help you out if needed :) Baleal is really a magical place, even though it is quite a small town, it is special and tbh I've seen some of the most wonderful sunsets of my life. I highly recommend it to everyone and I'd definitely love to come back one day <3

I had the best time ever at Baleal Guest house, with Bruno, everything about it was amazing, the place, the people, it was magical!! The work was fair leaving us with plenty of free time to surf, enjoy the beach or do whatever we wish. Connecting with the other volunteers also made this experience even better, everyone was super friendly, lovely and spending each day together was amazing and so much fun! Baleal itself has such a beautiful charm, with amazing people from all over the world and stunning views. I would highly reccomend this experience to anyone, thank you Bruno!!

Fantastic experience, the work was very light and Bruno is really open to talk with you in case you have any problems. I was sick for 5 days and he put me off all the shifts to make me recover and helped me during that period

Baleal Guest House was a dream!! I would comeback over and over again. The town is beautiful and you have many things to. The nature is incredible, the cliffs and the beach look like they came right out of a summer magazine and also you are in a perfect spot to make many day trips and get to now Portugal better. But the most beautiful thing I found there are the people, the volunteers and guests felt like a family for me this month. Bruno creates such a welcoming environment and the working is very manageable. Also extremely recommended if you want to learn to surf and do yoga!🏄🧘‍♀️

I spent a month there as a yoga teacher. i only had 1 hour of class in the morning, (they ask to do 1 hour for volonteers and 1 hour for guests, but in the end guest were very few so they would join the volonteer class). and after this i was absolutely free! there are free boards and you can buy a cheap second hand wetsuit in the school nearby, where you will also get two free lessons (per month). Bruno (host) is super chill, never any problem. the place is cute and cozy and the village is also very beautiful, the sunsets on the cliffs are amazing ! but small and can be boring
