Beautiful volunteering experience at the hostel, Ilhabela. It was our first experience as volunteers, together with my friend Angi, and it could not have been better. Amauri is an incredible person: always kind, patient with our Spanish, willing to teach us everything and help us learn Portuguese. Thanks also to Freddy, his little dog, for the best company 🐶💛. Highly recommended.

Volunteering at the hostel was a really nice experience. The tasks are well distributed and clear in each shift, which makes organization and execution much easier. The location is perfect, it's close to the South beaches and the main avenue, making access by bus as well as by car/motorcycle easier. The hosts are wonderful; Amauri and Jana are dear and willing to help us with whatever we need. And Fred is a very cute little dog and always shows up when we go to eat rs I am grateful for all the friendships I made here ☺️

I am very grateful to Amauri and Janaina for this very special experience. It was my first volunteering experience, and honestly, it was all very calm and pleasant. The atmosphere in the house and getting along with the other volunteers were very pleasant. Additionally, the house is close to several beaches that can be reached on foot. I am leaving very happy and grateful for this experience. 💛

The experience was very good; Amauri, the owner, is very generous and pays attention to whether the volunteers are doing well, and he makes you feel comfortable from the very first moment! The atmosphere of the hostel and the hostel itself are very warm. Since I visited in winter, the place was very quiet and the tasks too.

During volunteering at the hostel, several challenges have arisen, which have left me with many lessons. A big hug to Jana and Amauri!

The experience was good!! The tasks and shifts are very well defined. It was my first experience and I really enjoyed the contact with everyone (hosts, volunteers and guests); I believe the people who participated in this process with me made all the difference. During the time I was at the inn, the kitchen location was changed and air conditioning installed in the shared room, significantly improving the conditions of my stay. However, two points can be reevaluated: 1- breakfast is simple and tasty, but very limited (being a bread and a piece of

I've been volunteering for almost four years, and I can say with total clarity that this was the worst place I've ever been. The tasks aren't hard to perform, the location is good, and the amenities had every chance to be good as well, but the owners constantly make you uncomfortable by how they use the space in various ways. I was supposed to stay for a month; the same person changed the dates with his consent and expelled me after I had already provided the services, with the days off still pending. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!! There are no permanent staff, and the exchange is only bread (when available), a piece of cake, and coffee.

You know what you did and what you tried to do with your volunteer colleague... thanks to well-intentioned people we were alerted and you were unmasked, avoiding embarrassment to the others; you were invited to leave.
We truly wish for your growth as a person, as we accepted you based on previous evaluations and we are disappointed.
We recommend that you take some courses on the platform and "apply" them in real life.
Good luck with your future searches!

The schedule is very well organized and the working hours are respected. However, I faced some personal challenges during the experience that led me to end my volunteer work earlier than planned.

My experience at the hostel was great! The guesthouse is charming, very harmonious and invites relaxation! It is located in a beautiful part of the island, near beaches and stunning waterfalls. The owners live and work there, so the environment is quiet. This allows you to explore the island and get to know it at your own pace! They are open to discussing any changes to your days and work schedules. The volunteers' kitchen urgently needs repairs and breakfast is quite basic.

Casa lá Glória was my first volunteering experience, so I don't have any experience or other reference; unfortunately I got hurt and had to go back home 9 days before the experience ended. The host Amauri was the one who welcomed me and was very helpful, polite and made me feel at ease (he is like a father figure to the group, very communicative). A few days later Jana arrived (Amauri's wife), polite and very serious, she likes things done right and well and makes sure everything runs smoothly. I really enjoyed the island; I made friendships that I want to take with me for life. Being my first volunteering experience, I was satisfied with what I lived.
