Help in our farm and experience local Tanzanian life
The experience
We are a local family that lives in Arusha, north of Tanzania, our home is a farm.
We are looking for help from people around the world to do farm activities, like plant vegetables and fruits and take care of the animals (cows, pigs, chicken and dogs).
You will live with a Tanzanian family and experience the traditions, language and culture of the country at first hand.
What you offer
5 hours of help per day
Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.
Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.
Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens
Additional fee required
Amount: US$ 15 Per day
Description: Volunteer contribute 15$ per day to cover expenses of food and other maintenance
What you get
2 days off per week
Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.
Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.
Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!
Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!
Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.
Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.
Requirements
Beginner English or Beginner Spanish
Over 18 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers
What's not included
Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa
Host in high demand at the moment
Many worldpackers have been applying to this position recently. The host will probably not be able to respond to all of the applications, so we recommend that you also apply to other hosts in our community and not just this one :)
