We have just aquired a piece of land that will be transformed into a food forest using syntropic methods and permaculture principles.
It is about 1 hectare of bare ground used traditonaly for growing corn.
The land is about 20 min drive from the hostel.
Phase one *(2024) consists of gathering seeds of trees from every kind of native plant that we can find in the immediate area and on our specific scouting trips.
build a greenhouse.
Phase two *(Jan-Feb 2025) consists of airlayering trees from our friends and starting new trees by cuttings and help them grow roots in the greenhouse.
Start fencing the property with dry and live plants.
Phase three* (March 2025) Defining the water ways on contour and on the tree lines. Setting up the kitchen garden area. Starting the seeds in the greenhouse. Start the air layering and continue cuttings propagation. A little painting here and there for a change of scenery.
