The Experience

The job consists of taking care of the plants outside while taking cuttings to create new ones inside while improving soil quality. Building a green house and sprouting seeds. During low season there are very little to no guests here. So cleaning is mostly keeping the place ventilated. Occasional wood scrap constructions of shelves are common.

Volunteering at the hostel was amazing! Today I can say that Albania is my favorite country!!! During my days there I had a big personal problem, and Alban helped me a lot and made me feel comfortable. He is a super sweet person that I will always remember! The city is great for the beach and the hostel is quite spacious! The work is light and Alban is flexible and helps us however he can! Thank you, Alban!

I had a great first volunteering experience at the hostel! My goal was to connect with international travelers and it couldn't have been easier. The work is easy to learn and the hours are fine. Albano is one of the kindest people I've ever met and he always helped when I had questions. In my first week I got along very well with the other volunteers and that made the work super enjoyable and easy. When they left it was only me and one other volunteer and it was hard to communicate and get everything done. So when the team of volunteers work well together, everything is perfect!

Albano and all the volunteers and guests made me feel very welcomed and safe. I met tons of really cool people through the hostel. The accommodation was fine, but not my favorite. The volunteer dorm was pretty dark and the cot I got to sleep on was ok but not the most comfortable. I was there in the off season so the work was mostly small renovations and improvements to the hostel. The work was really easy and I had tons of free time. I would have preferred a more consistent schedule but like I said it was the off season so the summer might be more structured. Overall it was a good experience.

Thank you for your remarks Sloan. We were quite happy with your work.
You should know that Yoda was adopted to a Shephard in Finiq and Genci to Lukova. Thank you for not letting them eat our neighbor.
Those dogs were saved on a hike a year ago from a volunteer (@Jesus) like you that stayed for just a few weeks here and left us with 3 thirsty feisty mountain dogs. Its true we have our cultural differences but you need to know that the idiom "Rain cats and dogs" its a reality here twice a year.
As far as structure goes, if you thought that was chaotic, come visit us in summer. :D it will give you perspective!
Anyway we did try our best to give you a good first volunteer experience.
Better luck in the future.
Thanks again!

Albano was super kind and helped us in every situation. Also he was sometimes baking cakes for all of us! The working hours were totally relaxed (never had a more relaxed work), mostly we could choose when we start working and when we finish, since we were in construction and had no many guests. Truly amazing experience! We'd love to come back
