The team was really friendly and welcoming and I was lucky enough to find best friends among the other volunteers 🍀 I fell in love with Kyoto and saw a lot of it because most of the time we finished work early and had tons of time to explore the city, thank you so much for this amazing stay! :)

I had such a good time at Guesthouse Sign, I was with a group of other volunteers that were great and it made the all experience very fun. The team is also lovely and kind and the work is very easy and straightfoward. The bed is also very comfortable. I wish I stayed longer ! I really recommend this place to anyone looking for an easy going volunteering and plenty of time to explore Kyoto !

Honestly, I would definitely recommend this volunteering experience to other travelers. The tasks and schedules were respected, communication was clear, and they were always willing to help whenever needed. The hostel is in a great location, the facilities are comfortable, and the working environment was really friendly. I was lucky to meet some great people and there was a strong sense of teamwork. We worked well together and sometimes even finished earlier because of it. I would definitely do it again. Thank you for having me! :)

I had a wonderful time at the hostel! The staff and the volunteers were all super friendly. We only worked about 2 hours a day 5 days a week. The location of the hostel was great. You could walk along the river and see shrines and temples around every corner. I really appreciated the free coffee in the mornings! This was my first worldpackers experience and I would definitely recommend!

I had such a fun time volunteering at Sign Guest House!
Staff are from various countries who have stayed in Japan for a while and all are welcoming, polite and hard working.
They speak fluent Japanese (English as well, off course) and familiar with Japanese working cultures and ethics (punctuality etc).
There are several volunteers and all are great people, too.
I was assigned mainly to clean bathrooms and common area. Working hours are respected, and most of the days we finished even earlier and the rest of the days are free.

I really enjoyed my month at Sign, met some nice people (both volunteers & guests), the work is reasonable and the hours were respected. Depending on the days, we would either finish a bit before or after, but overall we didn't work more than what was agreed.
The full time staff is very nice, helpful, and accomodating regarding days off.
The hostel is very well located in the center, very close to one of the main streets, though the street itself isn't noisy. It's also easy to move around the city and there are good connections with the subway and buses.
