This project is to take care of the dogs in the centre (around 300) because their life conditions are pretty bad, even if the Burmese people feed them and try to take care of them as much as they can with their lack means. Most of the dogs have infected wounds, skin disease and sexual infections. More information here: https://thabarwavolunteering.com/volunteering/dog-care/Learn more

amazing experience. the highlight of my travels so far, i was not expecting Myanmar to be anything like it was.. rich and beautiful culture with incredible people. there were a LOT of volunteers when i was there, around 70. this was a good thing but it also meant most people didn’t have beds in the dorms for at least a few days. there was a makeshift dorm on the top floor so everyone had mattresses and mosquito nets plus if you participate in a lot of activities you’ll be so tired it doesn’t matter where you’re sleeping. maybe watch some of the youtube videos made on ThaBarWa before you come
Just stayed there for 4 days, but was a great experience. I had no knowledge at all about meditation, and I could learn some basic with the introduction classes. Michele is a really great teacher. The tasks were really nice as well. We went to help making/changing the pacient’s bandages. The only thing that kind of bothered me was sleeping on the floor (with a thick blanket underneath me) and the fact that the place is not that clean (but it’s up to the volunteers). The food was really great, and the other volunteers were really nice. It was a great place to conect with myself again. Recommend
