I had a fantastic time. The hosts/managers were friendly and welcoming, but maintained a good level of professionalism with the volunteers (they matched our energy very well).
The location was perfect to explore Edinburgh on the ample time off and the accommodation was good; hostel dorms, but good.
The only sort of negative for me was kitchen space was quite tight, but it worked fine.
As a note for future volunteers, if you have any mobility issues, chronic pain or similar, this may be a challenging place. The workload is fine, but it is moderately physical and there are a lot of stairs.

I had a great time volunteering! The team are friendly and helpful and there's always someone around to ask any questions. There's plenty of fun stuff organised by the team and I really enjoyed our karaoke night out 🎤! The hostel is very big and is 102 steps to the top! The work is fast paced, as it's so big! But there's lots of volunteers helping out and there is always great teamwork in a friendly and fun environment. I was sad to have to cut my volunteer experience short due to personal health, but I hope to be back in the future, even just to pop in and say hello! Thank you!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the hostel!! Everyone is so kind, caring and welcoming and every day I was greeted with a warm and friendly hello from other volunteers and managers. The hostel itself is located in prime location which offers a short walk to the train station, royal mile and other locations. My time here will forever be memorable and a time in my life I will think about often. I am so very grateful for the experience given and opportunities I was offered. 🥹🥹🥹

I'm extremely happy that the hostel was my first volunteer experience, this place has truly been a home away from home over the last few months thanks to the managers and other volunteers. Housekeeping is easy enough once learnt and there's always a big team to lean on during the shift. Having every night off is a big plus as well! Thank you Sergio, Merche, and Sarah!!

I have really enjoyed my stay at the hostel so far and have extended throughout the Summer :) The hours are always respected and there is lots of flexibility to work around days off. I've felt very welcome here from the first day and I feel like there is a good balance between people doing their own thing independently but also being very willing to go out and explore. I would definitely recommend the hostel for people looking for a perfect base in Edinburgh, working with friendly and fair staff :)

The hostel was my first hostel experience and it truly made my whole trip! Everyone, all the volunteers and all the staff, I wasn't expecting to wanting to come back so soon, but I definitely do! They made me enjoy my stay way too much, it was very hard to leave :(

I had the most amazing time at the hostel. As my first volunteering experience, all of the managers were so welcoming and supportive straight away. I started housekeeping and it was super busy during summer but I met so many different volunteers and the atmosphere was really fun! As it moved into winter, there was a really nice balance between social activities organised by other volunteers but also a lot of people just doing their own thing and being independent, which was perfect for me! Overall, I loved it here and will definitely be back 😋
