Volunteering at the coliving is a unique experience. The highlight is the possibility to hear from locals about Japanese culture and their perspective on the world. The host, Yuta, often doesn't answer Whatsapp messages, so I suggest looking for him in person to resolve any issues, or giving him a call if it's urgent. Overall, I strongly recomend this experience to anyone passing through Tokyo.

The whole experience was amazing. Even if you are an introvert this will help you pass beyond your communication skills. Recommend it to everyone!

Volunteering at Café the coliving was a lot of fun! If you're interested in meeting locals and learning deeply about Japanese culture, this will be a unique experience for you. The working hours are very fair, so you'll have plenty of free time to explore Tokyo. A heads-up if you're an introvert (like me): at times, you'll really have to "burn some brain cells" to keep the conversation flowing for 4 hours straight. It was definitely a challenge for me (haha), but I had a blast anyway! Yuta, the owner, is incredibly kind, helpful, and considerate. Highly recommended! Thank you very much 🙏

I had a wonderful time here. I'd say the best perk for people interested is meeting locals and connecting with fellow travelers, since there's a nice community gathered often around the café and they're friendly and happy to help you out and give you recommendations! The dorm provided is a bit cramped but it also offered a really comfortable and central base to keep exploring Tokyo during my off time, so it's in a very good location, specially if you want to go clubbing nearby! Yuta also helped me get my phone back after I lost it on the bus so I'm really grateful for that :)

The “Barbie” dorm was in a convenient location close to the train station with various restaurants and areas to explore nearby. Yuta was helpful with important needs, including pest control and adjusting the volunteer schedule when necessary. The volunteer work itself was very straightforward, and the hosted parties every Friday made it easy to meet both locals and other travelers. The dorm was about a fifteen minute walk from the coliving. The bedroom had three bunkbeds which was cramped with many people sharing the space, but there was also a nice shared living room with a patio.
