I had the most amazing time atthe shelter, Emily is one of the kindest people I have ever met and truly loves each of the dogs and cats at the shelter. Angus was so helpful and a great addition to the shelter and Charo is so thoughtful and kind. I extended my stay as I enjoyed the work so much and loved each of the dogs. I would highly recommend volunteering at the shelterif you are looking for a rewarding and wholesome opportunity. Thank you so much Emily, I will miss you and the kids ❤️

Had an amazing time here. Emily and co. were very welcoming. Spending time with the dogs and cats was so rewarding, they were so sweet. The tasks were very simple, you'd often be finished with in 3 hours. One thing to note is if there aren't many volunteers around, you will have to stay at the shelter to keep an eye on the dogs. The surrounding area was beautiful

I had a great time at Colitas con Canas! The tasks are well organized and explained. We were a nice group of people at the end of my stay! Emily is such a superwoman and inspired us all by her leadership and drive. The dogs, where do I even start?? They gave me more hope, love and inspiration than I possibly could give to them! Such a loving experience over all and I will come back for sure. As of accommodation - make sure to pack some warm clothes because the bungalow is a bit chilly at night! I could have wished for more hot water in the shower:) Kitchen’s good but be careful with the gas.

The shelteris a beautiful place. I spent five weeks there, and it was a truly wonderful time. I was welcomed incredibly warmly—everyone is so kind and genuine. The dogs are amazing, and Emily takes care of them with so much love. Angus is also very warm and open. I really enjoyed my stay. The work was relaxed, and there was plenty of time to explore the surroundings. I would recommend this place to everyone, as it is truly special. The dogs, in particular, find their way into your heart so quickly. I will miss them all very much.❤️

My experience here was one I will cherish closely. Emily was a great host & the work she is doing here is truly inspiring. It broke my heart leaving because I formed so much love for these dogs at the shelter & they are truly deserving of all the tenderness any volunteer can give them. If you have a compassionate heart & love animals you will without a doubt enjoy your time here. I hope I can come back again one day!

Cassidy was an absolute pleasure to have with us! She was kind, reliable, and brought such a positive, easygoing vibe to the team. She got along great with everyone, was wonderful with the dogs, and just made the place brighter. We’d happily welcome her back anytime!

Had a great time here. Shelter is really well ran and the dogs are great. Emily owns the shelter whilst Angus manages the day-to-day, both do an excellent job. Urubamba and the Sacred Valley are really cool areas with a lot to explore and do in your spare time. If you're interested in a hands on job where you get to care for dogs in a really cool area then this would be great for you.

Connor fit right in from day one. Super easy to be around, great with the dogs, and he was useful keeping the dogs quiet at night so Angus could have a night off :) We really appreciated having him here.

It was the best experience, the project tothe shelter and help the dogs is really well managed. We worked with a incredible team to be here for the dogs all day. The feeding, the cleaning tasks, the walks with the dogs, everything is well organised. I've learn so much being in contact all day with the dogs. Leaving them was the worst part.
