The Experience

If you are easy-going and want to get to know NYC and the area around, you should come to our "brazilian" hostel in Newark. Why brazilian? This region of Newark is a luso- portuguese community and the owner is also from Brazil :) But we receive people from all over the world every day and we need help welcoming them and giving us a hand to maintain our place nice and tidy!

I still as a volunteer at Sabrina’s place. It’s a great neighborhood! Lots of restaurants, markets and stores near, and it’s just 20 minutes from Manhattan by train. The schedule is very flexible, which allows you to do others stuff. I recommend!

Sabrina's house became a home to me, she is an amazing host, always cheerful, very caring and understanding.
I had the chance to practice my Portuguese which was surprisingly nice!
The work load and hours are more than fair and the accommodation very comfortable.
The house is very close to the train station which will get you to Manhattan in less than 30mins.

Sabrina is a great person and her house is perfect for those who search a great environment, it's an Airbnb hostel style, very well localized, very clean (you'll help make sure of it lol) and with great guests. I'd recommend anyone who's willing to try something new (like me) or already has experience cleaning (it will help but it's not necessary).
Newark is a Brazilian and Portuguese community so be prepared to hear a lot of Portuguese language. On the other hand the house is close by the train station so it's actually very easy to go to Manhattan Downtown or Midtown.
