The experience

Hi! Although some hostels in San Francisco are still closed, our hostel is still open with the help of amazing volunteers! The hostel is a bit slower than usual so the vibe is quieter than it usually is. However, you'll still meet some adventurous travelers. We provide a bunk in a dorm room, free wifi, basic breakfast, basic dinner ingredients, and lots of fun in return for only 25 hours a week of work!

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

What you get

1 day off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Parties: Get free entrance for the best parties in town.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

You will primarily help keep our hostel community sparkling clean so everyone is comfortable and happy. However, we are also looking for travelers who like to have fun and enjoy our San Francisco travelers community. We provide a basic breakfast and like to provide a family meal each night as well and you get a comfy bed in our quiet work exchange room. All we ask is for 25 hours a week and that you run an activity that is something social that you like to do (either within the hostel or out). You'll make friendships for life!

Activities & Shift

Participate in helping to clean the hostel for 4 hours each day from late morning to early afternoon. You will have most of the afternoon and evenings free to explore San Francisco and do what you like. As needed you can be trained on reception and would help out there when needed

Rules

We do not accept people traveling to the USA on a tourist/ESTA visa as that does not allow for work permit.
