Be flexible. Be adaptable. Roll with it. Pao and Sofi are awesome and super easy to approach. The training is quick and will take a couple shifts to really get down. Shifts are not hard but the over night can feel a bit long. Be self sufficient. The guest range from young adult to solo traveling grandma. The staff all speak English well. The guest aren't so fluent at times so really brush up on conversational Mexican Spanish. Overall, I had a great experience, learned alot about myself and the local culture and I made some great friends!

Since the day I arrived, Paola greeted me with a warm and welcoming attitude and explained everything clearly from the start. Located in one of the trendiest neighborhoods in the city, the hostel was such a fun place to stay. The work is very manageable, and you'll have plenty of time to explore the city or focus on other activities. Thank you so much for everything!

This was definitely one of my best work exchange experiences!!! Julie made me feel so much like part of the family from the start, and Patricio, the cat - who's actually the owner - would always keep me company. No heavy work at all, great sense of community, I made dear friends I'll be carrying for life. There is plenty of time to get to know the city and the culture and connect with the locals, walk through the neighborhood - which is mouth-dropping gorgeous + I didn't feel like was unsafe. Thank you so much Carlos & Julie for the opportunity, I highly recommend this place ♥

It was an amazing experience in every way. Carlos was very welcoming and a great host! I felt at home every day and I became friends with other volunteers and guests. The work that needs to be done is simple and it leaves you with enough time to discover the city and do other activities. I would totally recommend this experience to everybody who wants to visit Guadalajara and have a great time.

My experience at the Américana hostel was one of the best. With a very nice energy, it attracts people with that same energy and it becomes a calm and pleasant space; the tasks are very relaxed and they give you a lot of free time to explore the whole city. Also, it's close to the nightclub district, and it connects you with the heart of the city. The facilities are very comfortable, I loved it.
