The accomodation at first was good, then Karen made me move to a different room on the same day. She does this offen with the guests as well. Communication with her can offen be tense. When I was leaving she demanded me to give her 10 dollars for a set of old worn-out gloves that she gave me and I left in an Uber inside my backpack. It was unfortunate but it was on HER Uber going to work, and she couldn't manage to have it returned. She did ask this to me very agressively, touching my pockets as if I was hidden the stupid gloves. I will never accept to be treated like this.

Sebastian was given an entire apartment to stay in when he arrived, but was informed he would have to move during his stay. He agreed to that and was given a nice private room in the same house a few days later.

By then though things were deteriorating after I had to air out and throughly clean the apartment he was in due to his constant chain smoking and I let him know how much work he caused me.

He either stole or lost my gloves. Either way, he should have reimbursed me....

Karen was as enthusiastic as ever. She took care to introduce local information to everyone and arranged for driving them to visit museums, art galleries and other activities. Even her houses full, she still arranged for couch surfer to stay in her study for a few days, and personally pedalled bicycles to take her with us to see the water view, sunset, drink beer, eat pizza, etc. I had a plenty of time to explore the city. Nice neighbor, scenery riverfront, got my reduced bus card.A lady even gave me a music show ticket in the Fisher building. Thanks Karen! Wish her trip great also!

Nice hostess, pretty young manager. Guests have to clean their own mess, so relatively easy job. Just got bad feet, so didn't go anywhere a lot, but definitely I will be back to see my classmate there. And because hostess there, maybe I will settle down there in the future.

Let's start in the first day in the hause, meeting great people and they are all day help full, I am very happy, I am sure it was a good choose for going meeting the Detroit city, all the bus stops stations they are close the haus, are you will knowing the city the city it's good to go to the river and see the landscape enjoy

Karen is a great host. It was my first experience as a volunteer and it was fascinating. Chores were as we agree and I had a lot of free time. I've met many interesting people and immerse in local culture. Detroit is a way better place than I thought before I came here.

And Alexey is an amazing volunteer and super smart. He helped with so many different tasks both at our NYC location and Detroit and gave me so many different ideas about all sorts of things. We spent hours talking about all sorts of things so that was really fun and I got to learn all about his culture. A very creative mind. Thank you so much for helping in NYC last minute and then traveling to Detroit with me and also sharing your amazing culinary skills with my family too! I pulled out some Borcht in my freezer and it was still amazing. Thank you!!

When we are traveling we did many sacrifices for our trip. It was not good to hear the bad things the host said. I not recommend this place
