The Experience

/!\ Availability /!\ Shimanto: January 8th ~ 20th. Kyushu: January 1st ~ We run a hotel/log house business, so the main tasks are housekeeping (clean the rooms as well as the shared areas [onsen, toilets, main building]) and gardening (wood chopping, grass cutting, road sweeping) and other occasional tasks (painting, Karcher...). Thank you Manon. It was an absolute pleasure. There's absolutely minimal to do in the countryside but Manon will look after you & the work gives you experience with maintenance of cottages. the hotel was great, a wide of different animals you occasionally bump into. Thanks again 😊

I stayed 1 month during the low season (September), so I only worked 2 hours 5 days a week. I got my own cottage for half the time! The work was easy and I got the schedule the day before so I knew what to do. We cooked our own food, but the food was paid for by the company! All in all, a great deal! There is not much to do here, but Manon would take me on trips in our days off, which was a lot of fun! We went zip-lining, swimming in the ocean, visited shrines and temples and took a car trip to Tokushima!

I had a wonderful three-week experience at the hotel, the hosts were really nice and easy to talk to. The tasks given were simple and that we usually finish by noon. Though it may take some time and effort to get to the hotel, it's definitely worthy to give yourself a chance to live near the river and the trees!

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel! Both Manon and Kazu were extremely friendly and welcoming, made sure I had everything I needed to do my tasks. The tasks were very simple and once completed, I had loads of free time to do whatever I wanted. the hotel is a beautiful place with a river right in the middle. If you are wanting a place to relax and be around lots of the hotel, this is the perfect place!
