The experience

Volunteers spend time helping with establishing and maintaining different facilities here. The type of help varies by season, with outdoor activities, bnb during the warmer months, and indoor renovation during the winter.

We generally meet one time a day for a short meeting to make sure that helpers understand the help we need and delegation of that day's tasks.

Program Details

Volunteers will have a chance to be responsible for some aspect of our place, in conjunction with others from around the world. Since starting our center, we have had guests from over 90 different countries stay the night. We cook and eat meals collectively, and enjoy being with the many people who visit our home. We encourage helpers to explore the area around us, which is rich in history and nature.

Activities & Shift

During the summer, there are lots of activities and responsibilities, and volunteers start at different times throughout the day. Some are up early to help with breakfast, others help with the rooms, and some are responsible for the cafe, restaurant, and kitchen.

Rules

IN OUR EXPERIENCE, WE ARE A VERY POOR FIT FOR VEGANS.
Worldpackers have a shared room, shower, and toilet, as well as private space reserved for them. Meals are made from scratch with whole ingredients, local fish, poultry, and meat, and produce from our garden, as the season allows. We enjoy accommodating vegetarians, lactose, and gluten intolerant volunteers.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE SMOKERS.
We are a smoke-free space. Out of care for the environment, ourselves, and other guests and volunteers, smoking is not allowed in our home or business.
