Program Details

You will teach private or group classes of maximum 5 students, and go once a week to a rural school to teach larger groups of kids with a fellow volunteer.

We expect you to be punctual, prompt and reliable, to cooperate with us and fellow team members, and to prepare your classes and adapt your teaching strategies to student needs. We favor the communicative approach and the comprehension approach in our classes.

In addition to teaching, you may be required to do promotional work for the institute.

You can expect an inclusive and welcoming culture, respectfulness of your time, commitment and skills, and regular meetings with us. We will also give you housing and 5 hours of Spanish classes per week.

Activities & Shift

We are open Monday to Saturday. You will have between 3 and 5 hours of classes per day. Schedules tend to change often, and you will most likely have classes in the morning and in the afternoon.

In your spare time, you can enjoy the local cafés and restaurants, go on a hike or a bike ride, and spend time with the friendly locals.

Rules

You will share a house with a maximum of 5 other volunteers. It is located on the outskirts of town, a 20 minutes walking distance from the institute. It has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a big living room and kitchen, a washing machine and a good Internet connection.

It is very important for us to know that you are okay with sharing a house, as it will be a big part of your experience here, and that you will respect the house rules.
