Primer Eco-Hostal en Valparaíso busca voluntarios

About a week into my volunteer stay I found bed bugs in the volunteer dorm. They told me that this was the first time this happened and acted as if I was the first to make them aware of the issue. However after talking to other volunteers it became clear they already knew this was an issue and this was how they responded anytime someone brought up bed bugs to them. I understand bed bugs happen in hostels, however they can be mitigated. This interaction broke my trust in the administration causing me to leave the volunteer position early.

Lamentamos mucho el comentario de Graciela, ya que gran parte de su versión de los hechos no es correcta. Si bien es cierto que ella encontró el insecto en la habitación, era primera vez que esto nos ocurría y se puede comprobar en los comentarios anteriores de otros voluntarios, todos positivos.
Apenas nos informó la situación se coordinó una fumigación masiva en toda la casa lo antes posible, pero aún así ella decidió abandonar (y de mala manera) el voluntariado antes de la fecha pactada.

My experience in the hostel was amazing! I made friends that I will remember for all my life and I really believe that we gonna meet again! The staff team was a family, we shared beautiful moments during de lunch time together and people's like Marcelo makes me feel that my purpose is right! I would like to say thanks to Dani and Santino, you are inside of my heart wherever I go and I recommend this family, and Valparaiso is amazing, incredible, the energy, people, culture. The hostel was my first Worldpackers experience and I recommend this place to anyone who goes to Valparaíso. The staff makes you feel like you're part of a family and the guests are very friendly. The shifts are not so easy, but there is nothing you won't be able to do it. As your prize, there is a lot of free time to enjoy the region. The only two things that could it be better are the room, that was pretty dirty when I arrived and the food/cooking scheme that is a bit confusing. In overall, I am very thankful for this experience and I hope to come back someday!

This is, by far, the best I've ever lived in my life. The city alone is unbelievable, but when put together with such an amazing group of people like the ones I met in the hostel, it's absolutely mind-blowing. Here I wrote a book, fell in love, learned to recicle and became altogether a better person. For as hard as I try, I won't be able to describe the feelings of belonging, of family, of consciousness that I felt here. This place is pure magic, and you will not regret it. Plus the bosses are super cool and the work is super doable. I'll never forget this place. the hostel will be always in my heart

The hostel Eco Hostal is simply an amazing place. Everybody is kind and helpful with whatever you need, or any doubts you might have. The shifts are a little long, but we always have help and still lots of free time to know the city. For everybody looking for a chilean family, I totally recommend the hostel. Incredible people, incredible place.
