I spent 50 days at the hotel and Sav always made sure that the volunteers felt welcomed and were well taken care of. The jobs were pretty easy, working hours were always respected and there was always the possibility of negotiating the schedule which is great since there are so many cities around Inverkeithing that are worth going on a day trip. I left behind many friends and would definitely consider going back there.

I had a truly valuable time at the hotel with Sav! The work was exactly as described and well respected each day, and Sav was always open, respectful and communicative! I have made lifelong friends through volunteering here, and feel very thankful to have been a part of it! My experience at the hotel was wonderful, mainly because, for me, the most important thing about a place is its people. I made some amazing friends there, and I truly hope we never lose touch. At the same time, Sav is a very energetic and cheerful person who you can talk to about anything! Regarding the tasks, they mainly involve making the rooms, cleaning common areas, and helping out at reception. However, there are some days that can be more chaotic, perhaps because I stayed there during the high season. But I also think that this is part of the experience.

This was my first experience as a volunteer and I enjoyed it so much that I already have my return dates scheduled! Rules and tasks are clear, hours are respected. I made incredible friends in this place, my new Australian & Chilean besties and I have been able to make plans to continue traveling Scotland together for a bit 🥰! 💖 Sav is an amazing host, she takes pride in taking care of her volunteers and in being the best at what she does. 🌟 To anyone who wants to apply: keep in mind this is a business so remember to stay consistent in being of service and working with others as a team.

My experience at the Borderlands the hotel was very positive. The agreed-upon schedules and activities were adhered to, demonstrating the host's commitment. My time at the hotel was a lovely experience where I truly felt like I was apart of a team! The work wasnt too difficult and if any problems came up Sav was always a phone call a way to help us or in the building with a team of extra hands!Everyone was so sweet and welcoming, Sav made me feel like I was family! She took me out to see the city together and we shared a lot of laughs over some wine! Shes truly an go getter and an amazing, inspirational woman! I know I always have a friend in Scotland and a home at the hotel!
