Boreland Lodge Hotel
We're a small hotel just North of Edinburgh. You can get to Edinburgh just 30mins on the train. Volunteers get their own private room with an ensuite or share with another Volunteer we're all like family. We're experienced hosts and are always welcoming volunteers with open arms!
We have 4 staff members here: John and Josie ,Greg and shelbie who are all Scottish. We only speak English (with a very Scottish accent )and try to encourage only English to be spoken whilst on duty. Volunteers are treated with patience and respect. Here you'll be able to improve your English, have lots of free study time, and gain good experience to put on your CV. During your time off you can enjoy the area, discover Edinburgh and travel around Scotland.We are happt to help and support you.

My experience at the hotel over the 4 months I spent here was very good and constructive. The work and daily tasks were well defined and respected. The team and staff on site were welcoming, a special thanks to Sav for all the support! The location is beautiful and offers a great environment for those seeking a peaceful experience. I would recommend this opportunity to other volunteers who wish to contribute while enjoying the region.

I spent 50 days at the hotel and Sav always made sure that the volunteers felt welcomed and were well taken care of. The jobs were pretty easy, working hours were always respected and there was always the possibility of negotiating the schedule which is great since there are so many cities around Inverkeithing that are worth going on a day trip. I left behind many friends and would definitely consider going back there.

I had a wonderful experience staying with sav and helping at the hotel in Scotland. Sav is such a kind and caring person, always concerned about her volunteers' well-being. She supported me in so many ways and welcomed me with so much warmth. The work is fair, the hotel is beautiful, and I truly enjoyed being part of the team. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a meaningful volunteering opportunity. Sav is always ready to help and make you feel at home. As she says, it really feels like becoming part of a second family. I'm very grateful for my time there! ❤️

I had a truly valuable time at the hotel with Sav! The work was exactly as described and well respected each day, and Sav was always open, respectful and communicative! I have made lifelong friends through volunteering here, and feel very thankful to have been a part of it! I would recommend volunteering here to anyone who wants to be a part of a little community, and the location (both Inverkeithing and the proximity to Edinburgh) was the cherry on top!
