The work was as expected, nothing too difficult and 2 days off per week. The hostel itself felt safe but I would not recommend it for single female travelers or long term travelers without a car because there is not much to do in town and I didn’t feel safe in town either. The surrounding towns are great for surfing and day trips on days off. Make sure to ask Lauren about the town BEFORE you walk out of the vicinity. The hostel is very clean- because you make sure it is and there is a rooftop with a beautiful view you can hangout at. Open windows 24/7…bring bug spray for inside the hostel.

Lauren and Tammy were welcoming and kind, making my time at Medusa's really lovely. The work and hours were fair and I loved how close I was to the beach! Transportation in Puerto Rico is pretty terrible (everywhere on the island, really) but Lauren has great connections and helped me find a person to drive me around for a very reasonable cost. Medusa's is warm and comfortable, a perfect "home base" from which to explore Puerto Rico. If you have any specific questions, I'm more than happy to chat. Thank you, Lauren, Tammy & the whole Medusa's gang!

Disappointing! There are drifters living there that are ex-convicts/previous meth addicts that will offer you marijuana. Every morning and every night there is a thick aroma of weed smoke that circulates through the hostel. The only time you see management is when they are welcoming new guest. DO NOT BELIEVE the facade of the pictures you see of the place nor the nice demeanor Lauren gives off. Tammy is unprofessional and believes the best way to get her point across is by yelling at you. Their place and pets reveals there is a lot of neglect that needs addressed.
