The Experience

We're an Italian family, living in a small stone house in Emilia Romagna region, a place surrounded by forests, mountains and rivers. It is a perfect spot for trekking, climbing, and skiing. We like cooking homemade fresh vegetable, prepare pizza, bread and cake (in our wood oven), also to pick some berries, flowers and mushrooms. We need help, depending on the season, with farming, permaculture gardening, bees and some building tasks.

Coming as my first worldpackers trip was one that I absolutely loved and so glad I did it. The environment was very welcoming and they are such sweet people. I made new friends with other worldpackers that were also there at the same time. The food was amazing and the view is beautiful. Not only did I get the opportunity to learn italian cuisines but I also got to experience beekeeping. Their life made me reflect on my own; to slow down and enjoy it. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone as I will truly miss my stay with such lovely laidback people.

I had an excellent time taking the permaculture course. Alessio is very knowledgeable and i got to practice what he taught me in real time. My favorite part was getting to learn about beekeeping! Alessio and Maj Britt are both very welcoming, kind, and generous. For permaculture, you will stay in a tent with an air mattress. It is elevated so your belongings won't get damaged if it rains. I found the temperatures to be comfortable during my stay in July.

My time with Alessio and Maj-britt was unforgettable. I learned SO MUCH about cooking, permaculture, and sustainable living, all while being in such an incredible place. Not only is the farm and property itself beautiful, the routine and vibe that they have created is truly ideal and makes for an unforgettable stay. If you go, you will have so many moments of peace, joy, and laughter. Whether you are going for cooking, permaculture, or to help around the farm, I cannot tell you how much i recommend this experience. You will love it!!

An experience I will carry with me for a long time. The team was so kind and informative as they walked me through home recipes, those of which we were able to play around with to our taste and resources. I also learned true standards to living sustainably and off grid. Weather was inconstant throughout my stay which caused the power to shut down a few times. But the home was always warm and well lit - reliant on sustainable resources. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in getting away from the city, especially with an interest in culinary and cultural integration

It was wonderful to learn so much from Alessio & Maj-Britt - they have a fountain of knowledge in regards farming, organic produce and cooking. It's a beautiful part of Italy. Thank you for having me!
