The Experience

We're Jo and Steve and we need some help to maintain our land, garden and home in rural France. We have opportunities for volunteers in November. We enjoy the WP experience and our reviews say that we're good and sharing hosts. We give some clear structure and guidance to our volunteers because its good to know what is expected - but we also like conversation and to learn from others. Come and join us!

The home Steve are amazing hosts kind, welcoming, and so much fun to be around. They always made me feel cared for and often took me to explore the villages nearby. We shared many great moments together, with music, delicious homemade dinners, lot of laughs and enjoyable conversations. They were always appreciative of my work and communicated clearly about what needed to be done, which made everything easier. I would highly recommend this experience. It's such a peaceful and beautiful place, and I'm truly grateful for the time we spent together.

The home Steve gave me an incredible first experience! Everything was explained in detail and the work hours were always respected. You can tell that they are both passionate about sustainable living and the maintenance of their beautiful land. You can feel that the work you do is a great help to them which is rewarding. You learn a lot as well. They were lovely hosts and welcomed me into their routines and weekly outings (amateur theatre ;) , markets, local musical performances, watching our favorite series, visiting local villages, ect.). Not to mention their loving animals! I 100% recommend!

I had a truly amazing experience at the home & the home house :) They are very committed to making this experience as pleasant as possible! They took me on a few interesting trips to explore local towns and villages. They were also happy to drop me off at the train station whenever I've asked. They always made sure that I wasn't hungry & prepared a lot of delicious meals for me. The house is surrounded by beautiful nature that makes you slow down and relax, an idyllic place! the home & Steave are wonderful people, very easy-going, funny, and caring. It's impossible not to get along with them :)

What a wonderful family! The work was well explained, varied, sometimes challenging, but always rewarding—the home and Steve truly appreciate it. They make sure you have everything you need, the food is amazing, and the trips to nearby towns were a great bonus. Dinner conversations were inspiring and I learned a lot from their experiences. The house and grounds are beautiful. the home is very knowledgeable—she taught me how to build a compost heap and gave me great gardening advice. Steve is hardworking and gives clear, helpful instructions. Thank you both for making me feel so welcome.

Staying with the home Steve was an AMAZING experience in every way. They were both very kind and respectful to me and the other volunteer. They were also very involved in helping us learn different kinds of skills while we were working. Lovely house and lovely family — 100% recommended. I really liked that them and one of their sons worked with us every day. ❤️
