The hostel is a very good hostel in Rio: it's clean, close to the beach, in a very nice neighborhood, it offers a lot of services! I spent there one month and I really loved all the other wp (volunteers). We create a wanderful friendship and I'm sure we'll see again! The only bad thing of these hostel was the organization of the owners and of the manager. They don't explain very well what you have to do, but they pretend more than it. Sometimes it seemed like we were really workers with a salary, not just volunteers. The working environment was a little bit heavy and difficult.

It was a great experience for me. The purpose of my trip was to meet people from all around the world and learn portuguese language. So the hostel was the perfect place to stay, it's a really nice hostel, clean and organized, with a beautiful bar where all the guests get together having a good time, drinking beers and the best caipirinhas that Fred and Luisa made. But the most important thing that the hostel has is its staff, they make me feel at home and they help me a lot to learn portuguese.

The 3 weeks I spent at the hostel were amazing, the staff were always friendly, caring and super chilled out. My tasks as a Barman were really easy and enjoyable plus I got the chance to make a lot of new friends and to go out almost every night with them. Since this was my first trip as a Worldpacker I wanted to visit another parts of Brazil apart of Rio de Janeiro and unfortunately I had to leave 3 days before I was supposed to. You get to save a lot of money at the clubs just by being part of the staff of the hostel. Also the staff of BEM Brasil is completely made up of legends! I loved it!

I had a lovely although short stay in the hostel. The whole team is really friendly and welcoming which made me feel like home from the minute I entered the hostel! Bar work is fun and entertaining - I really enjoyed it! Not to mention happy hour of free caipirinhas - this made my overall experience even better! Moreover, it's a perfect place to stay if you're looking for great parties as you are given a vip entrance to most of them for being a the hostel staff member. The only thing I regret is not staying for longer. Thank you the hostel! You all were amazing hosts :*

It's been a great experience! I've learnt too much about volunteering. It was very flexible with the timetables and I met some prople that today are very good friends. I'll do it again. It's a shame it is ending!!!

I loved my experience at the hostel Río! At first I was going to stay two weeks and I ended up extending because I really loved it! I made many friends and most of them Brazilian, so I could practice and greatly improve my Portuguese. The hostel is very active, very RÍO 🩷, there are always people and good energy. Bernardo the manager is very cool and flexible with shifts and days off. Although the cleaning work can be a bit intense, it's quite bearable and the schedules are respected.
From day one they welcomed me and treated me with a lot of affection and courtesy. Without a doubt I recommend it and I already hope to return!
