Mamoní was afun and an eye opening experience. You get to learn fun facts about permaculture and meeting locals and a few times you get to go on hikes and walks to some beautiful places and also help in the kitchen if needed. I loved talking to Adriana and Angel who were very friendly and open to answer questions about local culture. Esme, José and Adriana's food was delicious and a good way to learn about Panamanian cuisine. All the other volunteers were very friendly and I enjoyed dinner conversations with them and Nico. First few days are the hardest but everything gets better after!

This was my first solo travel experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. We were able to engage in countless outdoor activities (and obviously do work which was incredibly rewarding). I made lifelong friends and gained knowledge for my future solo adventures. I also loved all the staff and all the stories I got to hear. Sad to go, but I'll always remember my time at Geoversity. If you can, try to come during the student season, so you can visit local communities, join on hikes, and meet likeminded people :) I hope to see everyone again in this lifetime 🥹

Was an awesome learning experience. The work was difficult and physically challenging but I loved my time getting my hands dirty, learning about permaculture, farming, and reforestation efforts. Mark and Nico were some of the most patient and knowledgeable nature experts that I have met. They and the rest of the staff always made me feel welcome. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to unplug in a the organization, and is willing to constantly be sweaty from humidity, live amongst beautiful trees, and get attacked by bugs. I also was able to practice my Spanish with the locals!

I absolutely loved my experience at Geoversity! This experience isn't for you if you don't like being fully immersed in nature (there will be bugs, mosquitos and your stuff will get a little mouldy… you're in a the organization so it's only natural), but if you enjoy being surrounded by nature, incredible Panamanian food, and learning different ways to live more sustainably, this place is for you! Geoversity has been the perfect detox from a stressful life back home, and a truly unique experience that I will cherish forever 🥰

My time at Geoversity was very enjoyable. We had a great group of other volunteers which made it even better. I loved immersing myself in nature (using the natural swimming pool and pavilion workout area), practicing Spanish with Esme and Angel (the lovely kitchen staff), and the hikes and night walk (seeing so many types of animals). Although we were limited with our permaculture involvement due to multiple school groups, I really enjoyed learning and getting involved with creating Biochar and the full process behind bamboo construction. I'd definitely recommend this experience!
