Program Details
We provide accommodation in our staff house, a small but cozy Portuguese home on the main avenue of Sagres. Cafés and supermarkets are just next door, and the surf house is only a 10-minute walk away. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. You’ll share it with other volunteers.
Breakfast is included. Lunch and dinner are on you.
Surf equipment is free to use, depending on availability, and must be arranged with the management team.
Cleaning of the staff house is a shared responsibility among volunteers and is orientated and checked by the management team.
Activities & Shift
You’ll assist with general repairs and daily simple maintenance across our staff house and property, including short daily tasks like changing lamps, unclogging, and small fixes under guidance from our experienced management team.
A big focus will be helping renovate our dear staff van transformed into a double-bed accommodation a couple of years ago. Now we're looking for making some updates. Tasks may include improving insulation, cleaning against mold and dust, and carpentry work. Previous experience in carpentry, repairs, or construction is highly valued, of course, but curious and hands-on learner are welcome too. :)
You’ll also help care for the outdoor areas, including watering plants, maintaining the garden, and keeping common spaces tidy. This volunteering schedule is around 25 hours per week, with 2 days off. The workflow will be fairly flexible, but always respecting the agreed weekly hours to ensure a fair exchange for both hosts and volunteer.
