Program Details

We are looking for someone proactive, willing, calm, and who accepts challenges. Bonete is a peaceful place and the movement is seasonal; our busiest period is during the summer, and in the other months the movement is quieter. Here the connection with nature is present and intense: a place to rest, enjoy, and embrace silence, to bathe in the sea, in a river, and in a waterfall, to hike, to venture through the forest, to meet the locals and the culture, and if you're lucky, Kajya will open the Toca da Lontra and you will enjoy a Bonete-style night, beer at a dubious temperature, live music, and an incredibly starry sky.
No Bonete you can only arrive by boat or on foot; we recommend that the volunteer research before applying.
Our hostel has activities divided into shifts, and the idea is to balance the exchange with other staff and volunteers and have time to get to know Bonete.

We provide in our shared kitchen the supplies so you can prepare your lunch: rice, beans, salt, oil, pasta, tomato sauce, sugar. The items are shared among the volunteers. The shifts are 5 hours per day and the schedule will depend on the flow of the house, but we want you to have quality time to know and enjoy Bonete.

Activities & Shift

The activities are reception, cleaning, and support in the breakfast service. The activities are divided into shifts, morning, afternoon, and night, and we are quite strict regarding the cleanliness of the spaces. The hostel operates from 08:00 to 22:00. We work with activity checklists and shift rosters, so every day you will know which activities you need to perform.
