The lodge is an amazing place! This was my first volunteering experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one! If you're looking to reconnect with nature and appreciate the simplicity of life this is the place for you! Task varied and some days where shorter than others which meant you had most of the day to yourself and to be able to explore! It truly was an unforgettable experience!

The lodge was my first volunteering experience, and I couldn't have picked a better place! I had such an amazing time that I ended up staying three extra weeks. Tasks were easy and varied, including gardening, cleaning, and helping Kris with whatever came up. Shifts were fair, and there was plenty of time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Kris was an amazing host, I always felt welcome, comfortable and appreciated. Chacahua is beautiful, offering the perfect mix of wild nature and community. If you're looking to truly unwind and relax while making meaningful connections, this is the place!

The lodge is a beautiful place in nature where you can live barefoot on the sand and fall asleep to the ocean. Kris is a wonderful host who cares about your experience and is always available to talk. He made us feel at home and was flexible when we left early. We helped build a wave barrier with sand bags, at our own pace. The kitchen is well equipped, and our teepee had a fan for the heat. A hurricane hit last year, so some things still need work, like the fridge, not yet fixed. Low season (May–October) is hot and humid, limiting activity 11am-4pm. Few guests means peaceful, but less community.

Volunteering at the lodge and the restaurant Nanu went above and beyond my expectations. What an amazing setting that would be hard to find elsewhere. Kris as a host was extremely accomodating from the minute I arrived. The work environment is fun and purposeful. You will have an amazing time being in a secluded space close enough to town to enjoy everything Chacahua has to offer. By far the best volunteer experience yet. If you're lucky enough to volunteer here, dont let the opportunity pass!

I had a really great experience volunteering at the lodge. I actually ended up extending my stay because I enjoyed it so much, which says a lot about the place. The accommodation is comfortable. The work itself was chill overall, tasks were simple and easy to follow. However, there were definitely moments moments where it got a bit intense, especially working under the sun , but it was always manageable and honestly felt rewarding by the end of the day. Kris was very respectful and understanding and he created a positive and easygoing environment which made everything run smoothly.

Kris was an amazing host. Together with his mom they made me feel so welcome. The place is an absolute paradise with the best sunrises en sunsets. The work itself is diverse and not hard at all. There are no strict work hours it is all very chill, the Mexican way. Kris is someone who goes above and beyond for you to have the best experience, he knows a lot of people on the island so you could get great deals, and best of all he is a great cook. If you want some time to chill, alone or with lots of people you will meet there, this is the place!! I would recommend this to everyone!

What an amazing experience we had at the lodge and Nanu(the restaurant). This was our first volunteer gig, and we're so happy we did this! Kris is very flexible and made good use of everyone's skills. We helped build a palm roof as there were many volunteers with only restaurant experience. He is very open to new ideas on how to improve both volunteers and guests stays. Obviously living on a remote island on a beach is very basic so be prepared for that! But it also has everything you need. A real “cut off” from reality. Would 100% reccomend. Thank you Kris & Iris!

Kris is a cool guy and the lodge is beautifully located by the beach. Facilities are basic, but kitchen, hammocks and yoga deck are nice. My first week was a bit lonely and I didn't exactly experience the warm welcome others have described. I worked 4 hours a day, at first spread throughout the day which was a bit inconvenient (sun set at 6pm). It got better organized on my 2nd week. On some days tasks were chill, on others physical. You don't get food in exchange, but Kris had some contacts for activities at a better price and a discount at his restaurant. He was always quick to answer questions

I found hard to give you tasks because you were not showing abilities in non of them, even in basic ones, so I had to try to find something for you. After couple days, we found something basic with zero difficulties. Before you arrived, all volunteers finished their time and new group came in, by the time you left, there were 5-6. Last night you basically crashed a pivate dinner with my friends, organized a good bye party on top of my dinner, ate food and got angry when asked to help washing...
