I had a great time at the home. Saroj and his family were all very friendly. The living space is quite simple and you may be moved if another volunteer comes. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper as the traffic/animals can be loud at night. I and another volunteer went trekking which was a great experience with a well planned itinerary and clear leadership. There was an issue with communication in the group though and if you are on a budget the cost of convenience is probably not worth it. Overall, I totally recommend this experience, having only slight nitpicks. Thanks a lot Saroj!

I enjoyed my stay at the home! The work was less then expected because of the weather but I didn't mind. We watched the goats for a couple hours a day, they were adorable! The three meals per day were also good! The beds were not the cleanest, but comfortable enough. Thank you Saroj and family for this lovely experience!

Namaste 🙏! I spent 3 amazing months in Nepal 🇳🇵 and truly had such a wonderful time. During my stay, I stayed twice with SAROJ at the home, and I really enjoyed spending time with his family. I even called his mom ‘Mummy’ because she made me feel just like family ❤️. I also absolutely loved all the cute and friendly goats 🐐 and doggy 🐶🐕 there. The peaceful local lifestyle, warm hospitality, and beautiful memories made my Nepal journey even more special. The home Stay was such an amazing experience—I truly enjoyed every moment there. Saroj and his whole family were incredibly welcoming, making me feel right at home from the very beginning. Every day, they prepared such delicious food, full of warmth and love.
I especially loved taking care of the goats 🐐 and spending time with the adorable dogs 🐶🐕—TIKI 🐶 always stayed right by my side, which made my days even more special.
The location is also beautiful, surrounded by peaceful hills and very close to Swayambhunath Stupa 🐒🪷☸️🕉️, which makes it even more magical.

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Thamel, but still have the big city within reach, learn a lot about Nepal, its traditions and politics from your host, and look after 15 adorable goats for about two hours a day, five days a week, then this is the place for you.
The family is very welcoming and the food is healthy and always delicious.
I also got to learn how to cook roti and momos.
The tasks mostly involve herding goats, mucking out the stables or gardening, but everything is easy to do.

I really enjoyed my two weeks at the home Fram!! Saroj and his family are the kindest most welcoming people. I spent my time with dogs and goats, had the best nepali food and thereby learned much about the local culture and their way of living. The working time was aligning perfectly with my freetime plans. Most of the time we would sleep until 10am, had pancakes for breakfast and afterwards watched the goats for 2 hours. Everything was nearby including a supermarket, a laundry service and free yoga classes. Thank you for this wonderful, authentic experience!!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the home for a week. We had our own private room in the back garden. What we enjoyed most was cooking with Mama and her family. A wonderful group of volunteers formed among us. The work is very simple and involves looking after their 15 goats in the meadow in front of their house. It was one of the most beautiful experiences in all of Nepal! The only improvement that could be made is a softer mattress. Thank you for everything!!! we'll think of you often.
