I couldn't recommend the hostel Backpackers for volunteers more strongly! The tasks were reasonable, and Jorge and Paula were the most welcoming hosts. The hostel lends itself to socialising with guests, and I met some incredible people throughout my stay. I had an incredible month here, and hope to return someday!

The tasks are easy, cleaning bathrooms, showers, floors and the kitchen, and checking in and assisting guests. The schedule is good, and the staff are welcoming. You meet travelers, and I even made friends.

Unfortunately, the basement accommodation has a strong mold smell, visible black mold on the walls and ceiling, and rotten baseboards due to humidity. I asked for an alternative, but was told that was the only option. I spent a week sleeping in a hammock outside before finding a new place. Since they only offer accommodation, it should meet basic health standards.

Volunteering at the hostel was absolutely wonderful. In exchange for completing simple tasks a few hours a week, I gained such valuable experience and incredible memories. Jorge, Paula and others create a welcoming environment making it easy to be away from home. I actually ended up staying an extra week to close out the hostels working season. I highly recommend volunteering with the hostel.

My stay at the hostel was wonderful. Jorge and Paula are such naturally warm people that you immediately feel at home. The guests are also super open and inspiring, and it's very easy to connect with them. The room was spacious and comfortable. The shifts are in the evening, which gives you lots of time to explore the city and its surroundings. Santiago is a charming and lively city. There are plenty of traditional events that let you embrace Galician culture. Moreover, there are endless possibilities for hikes and excursions outside Santiago. I definitely recommend! ❤️

The hostel is an amazing place. It is an extremely social hostel, and it was so fun being able to talk to travelers from all over the world. The vibes are always good, and Jorge and Paula work hard to ensure everyone is having a good time. They welcomed me into their space and made me feel at home immediately. It is very easy to meet new people and go out for a coffee or beer with them. The accommodations for volunteers are good and pretty private.

Santiago is an amazing city and the hostel is the best host in town. The staff is amazing, very understanding and kind. The work is easy and the vibes are chill. The hostel itself is also great with everything you need and a cat (Jueves). To sum it up, it was a wonderful stay and hope to come back soon and do the camino for real.

After my short stay at the hostel Backpackers, it became obvious why people don't ever want to leave. You'll find a super warm and welcoming vibe. The task are easy, fast and simple. Guests come from all over the world. Many who have finished the French Camino and will happily gift you with interesting stories. Jorge is super sweet and everyone has great taste in music. Would definitely recommend. ^_^

Fantastic experience at the hostel Backpackers Hostel! I felt really welcomed. There was the perfect balance of peaceful times, chilling, and exciting activities and parties. I met really nice and warm people; There are all kinds of guests there, pilgrims, backpackers, or people just visiting the city, each with a different history and pearls of wisdom. It is the perfect spot if you love nature too, it has a beautiful garden, and there are mountain tracks close. I totally recommend it! I'll be back there soon!

The whole team welcomes me very well, Jorge is a very pure person, the days were incredible, I had a perfect time, they helped me with many things and they were always very polite and they taught me every task I had to do, I also had a lot of flexibility to carry out each activity. I thank you with all my heart for everything you did for me. I met many people from places I would never have thought of, I enjoyed every moment. Conversations, meetings and every meal. I was also able to cook typical Argentine dishes for the hostel. I'd do this experience one and a thousand times. Abrazo grande!!!
