I've been teaching french there. This was my first time volunteering and it exceeded all my expectations. People here were Incredibles, I felt home there. I definitely recommend the inn. My Worldpackers experience started from this amazing place surrounded unbelievable nature,stunning sunsets and waterfalls. Beside the best nature I've ever seen I can't help but mention the hospitality of all people who live and work here. The food is perfect, it's much better than any restaurants . Honestly I couldn't imagine that my first experience has exceeded my all expectations. Thanks to Ailson I saw many amazing place, met nice people and fall in love with Brazil and started learning Portuguese and now I want to stay here more and enjoy

I stayed at the pousada during carnaval, which made Ailson very busy, so this is specific to that information I was there with other men and women, but he didn't ask the men to do any real tasks while the women were getting assigned full work shifts early and every day This might be because we applied to language teaching positions, but it just wasn't a good or respectful situation for anyone, and definitely has to be fixed I have also never complained about a sleeping arrangement in my life, but my mattress was so thin that I was waking up with my hips hurting from sleeping on it

Você foi recebido aqui com muito carinho e fizemos de tudo para proporcionar, não somente a você como a todos os outros , uma experiência satisfatória em que todos pudessem estar confortáveis. De fato com o período do carnaval tudo estava um pouco mais difícil, e até mesmo a comunicação entre nós por conta de estarmos todos mais ocupados, porém, em momento algum houve qualquer distinção entre trabalhos de homens e trabalhos de mulheres, os trabalhos seguiram de acordo com a proposta inicial de cada aplicação e foram respeitados todos os horários de cada um, mesmo porque não havia nesse período vários homens e mulheres, havia 3 mulheres e somente você de homem, ao que, como você mesmo disse, com aplicações para funções diferentes. Você teve a sua função respeitada e se nada lhe foi pedido além foi justamente para não desrespeitar a sua proposta inicial, o que , também não significava que se você quisesse contribuir com alguma coisa mais para auxiliar as mulheres, que não pudesse fazê-lo. Em que momento você foi impedido de fazer alguma outra coisa? Você tinha uma carga horária de aulas par cumprir, e ainda que alguns não estivessem com tempo para as aulas, havia outros que estavam e você tampouco se preocupava em fazer o seu trabalho em um tempo razoável, fazia apenas 50 minutos e já dizia que estava cansado e tinha que repousar, assim como em outros dias já nos avisava que não estava se sentindo bem para as aulas, e que fazia uso de medicamentos controlados, ao que também procuramos respeitar e não te impor uma jornada exaustiva. Quanto ao seu colchão, você estava num quarto com duas ou três camas,em que já ficaram várias outras pessoas e que não reclamaram sobre isto, contudo ainda assim, se o colchão não estava bom era apenas nos dizer que poderíamos ter trocado para você, temos um depósito com mais de 30 colchões de todos os tipos. Emfim, penso que toda oportunidade que experimentamos seja também oportunidade de crescimento pessoal e de expansão da própria consciência, assim como também de se perceber que para ser de "fato" as pessoas politicamente corretas que as pessoas procuram querer ser, é preciso muito mais do que simplesmente emitir opiniões superficiais ,mas saber observar com mais atenção e sobretudo, desenvolver mais compreensão sobre situações adversas que possam encontrar, do contrário, é melhor nem sair de casa. The experience at the pousada was Nice. Pluspoints: -nice Nature around -staff is super welcomed and Nice - three times food and Coffee (nice cake) Minuspoints: - i arrived at carnevaltime it was pretty full and i had to share a small room with two other volunteers. Two other male voluntiers could easily stay at their own. At the end of carneval i got my own room but only because i asked. - in the first room i had a pretty uncomfortable matress As conclusion somehow i feel it was pretty full so there was no time for a proper introduction and for the português clases.

Obrigado pela sua colocação, porém cumpre observar alguns detalhes, o fato de que que outros voluntários ocuparam quartos diferentes não significa que estavam sendo privilegiados, principalmente em relação a serem do sexo masculino, somente um deles estava ocupando um quarto individual, assim mesmo, menos confortável, e numa área mais exposta a barulhos e o outro, que nem voluntário era, ocupava também uma casa compartilhada e se utilizava de um sofá para dormir. Ademais a proposta inicial era de quarto compartilhado e o quarto compartilhado para três pessoas não era tão pequeno assim, já tendo sido compartilhado outras vezes e sem nenhuma reclamação sobre isso. Você disse que teve o seu próprio quarto após o carnaval tão somente porque PEDIU, sim, mas foi prontamente atendida e inclusive indo para uma suite que é destinada ao uso de hóspedes, o que para muitos seria motivo de expressar alguma gratidão. Sobre o seu colchão desconfortável, era tão somente ter nos comunicado que teríamos imediatamente providenciado um outro colchão. De fato em decorrência da chegada praticamente no feriado de carnaval não pudemos fazer uma recepção de chegada mais adequada, como sempre fazemos, mas o que foi sendo suprido no decorrer da convivência. Ainda sobre aulas de Português, cumpre ressaltar que não faziam parte da sua programação, havia sim uma programação para isto numa outra proposta de voluntariado que não foi para o qual você se inscreveu,mas ao que não teria problema nenhum que tivesse e você pudesse participar, o que havia sido interrompido pelo feriado do carnaval. Contudo, espero que na convivência com os demais voluntários e com a equipe possa também ter compreendido que a experiência que procuramos verdadeiramente valorizar na proposta de voluntariado seja principalmente a de desenvolver valores humanos como serviço ao próximo, gratidão, e sobretudo compreensão do mundo em que vivemos. obrigado

The inn is a lovely place and it's perfect if you want to get an experience in the nature. Everyone there is friendly and Ailson is a great host who e.g. took us volunteers around to see waterfalls and to eat in the town. We did language exchange classes and I enjoyed learning Portuguese. In the beginning, I felt like the tasks were a bit unclear, but it was fine and depends on your approach. Besides from this, the tasks also consisted of helping a few hours in the restaurant/bar on weekends which is a good place to practice your Portuguese - and learn how to make caipirinhas!

The Pousada is a wonderful place, so cozy full of art. The host Ailson is very attentive and makes you feel at home and welcome from the first moment on. I am deeply grateful for this experience. Ailson often showed us the surroundings with beautiful waterfalls and great scenery. The working hours are flexible and the Language Exchange lessons with Ailson are a lot of fun. I highly recommend this experience!

The inn is the perfect place for someone that wants to go away from the city rush and immerse themselves in nature. Ailson is a great host and an impressive person. If you want to learn about painting, gardening, sewing and even making music, he for sure can help you! The Pousada is located 40 min walking from the closest town, but just 10 min from a cute river where you can go after your volunteer hours. I loved the close relationship I got to develop with almost all the volunteers there! Be ready to share all our meals with all the team as if u were a little family. 🥰

I was looking for a cozy and friendly in the countryside to spend my 2-week vacation and even though I arrived with high hopes for this volunteer, in the end I couldn't be more grateful for my experience there. Ailson is such an amazing, fun and kind person. Although so is the rest of his crew as well. Everyone made me feel comfortable and welcomed from the start and the guest house itself is absolutely gorgeous. I loved just sitting long hours near the pool and under the sunlight to read my books or practice some yoga. If you wanna feel less anxious, get some peace and quite, this is it!

I CAN'T BE GRATEFUL ENOUGH TO AILSON, WHO IS SUCH A GENEROUS HOST, AND TO ALL THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE WHO WORK AT the inn! ❤️ I recommend this experience for proactive people with an attitude of service and a collaborative mindset. You will receive more than you give! I had a flexible schedule for teaching languages and plenty of free time to wander around! During the weekends, you will be helping with other tasks related to running the inn, which for me was not only fair but also lots of fun! I met some amazing travellers and also some of the friendliest Brazilians in the state of Minas.

I have had the most amazing time at the inn! I arrived feeling nervous, but everyone was so kind and I ended up making friendships that will last for life!! They always include 3 meals a day plus a snack, so you can save your money. They are also very flexible with your schedule so that you can work on your own projects and they let you experiment with doing different tasks for the pousada (teaching, working in the restaurant, bartending, etc.). Ailson, the host, is very kind and wants everyone to have a good experience. I 10/10 recommend this experience! ❤️
