Volunteers help support the daily social atmosphere at T5 and play an important role in keeping the hostel friendly, active, and welcoming. Tasks can vary depending on the day, the events happening in the hostel, and the general needs of the team.
Typical activities may include:

Volunteers contribute around 20 hours per week, usually across 4 or 5 shifts.
Shifts may take place during the day or evening, depending on hostel needs and scheduled events. This can include social/event shifts as well as occasional morning support shifts.
We always make sure volunteers have at least two full days off each week so they can explore Bucharest or travel to other cities in Romania.

Rules
Length of Stay
Volunteer stays are normally up to 1 month to keep the experience fresh for everyone.
We ask for a minimum commitment of 2 weeks, which works as a trial period. If things are going well for both sides, there may be the option to extend.
Communication
We organise most things through Telegram, so please check:
• Private messages
• The staff group
• The community group
Having Revolut is also helpful for easy payments and shared costs.
House Rules
Volunteers are expected to follow the same house rules as staff and guests.
This includes no drugs on the premises and no external alcohol brought into the hostel or bar. These rules help maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone at T5 Social.
Ending Your Stay Early
If things aren’t working out for any reason, we can agree to end the stay early. We simply ask for open communication and some notice where possible.
T5 may also end the volunteer stay if:
• Agreed responsibilities are not completed
• House rules are not respected
• The volunteer agreement is not followed
