It was my first volunteer experience with Worldpackers and I'm glad it was at the the guest house. Although it's further away from the center of the guest house, the neighborhood is quiet and the beach is literally at the end of the street. It was two great weeks, with a few simple tasks during the day and interacting with guests from different countries. It's a perfect opportunity to practice Portuguese, English and Spanish, as well as make new friends and learn to surf during the summer.

This was my first worldpackers experience and I had a really great experience! Miguel is really nice and relaxed, he is understanding and very calm. The place is very quiet, but they do organize some events in the city (when I was there there was a concert and a surf night event with dj and fireworks!). Very close to the guest house (super nice little city), but not many transportation (you basically need to take bolt everytime but it's only 10-12 euros to go to the guest house). The beach is stunning with amazing sunset, will miss this the most!

Miguel is a really chill person and the guest house is a very quiet town. I enjoyed spending time there, the tasks were ok but not clearly defined. He would expect us to be available most of the time in case someone needed to be checked in. The job also includes cleaning an apartment he runs in the guest house (30min away). In many opportunities we had to pack our things, without much notice, to move there because he had rented the whole house in the guest house. I didn't really enjoy this moving around, it wasn't part of what was arranged. Communication needs to be improved.

It was all very different from my expectations. So to start, there wasn't really a hostel vibe when I was there, only people staying in private rooms. Also there weren't a lot of surfers in the guest house. Which was just different then what I expected before I came(totally my fault for not checking beforehand). When I arrived I didn't feel very welcome, Miguel is not mean but I just didn't get the feeling that he cared about our stays. We switched sleeping places every couple of days between the guest house and the guest house, without much notice so that would be a good improvement. The work was very fair!!

My experience in Praia da the guest house was great. The work is easy and very flexible. It's the perfect place to relax and disconnect. Plus, the beach is amazing!

I super recommend the the guest house, such a chill atmosphere, the house is amazing with a lot of options about what to do. It is a pleasure to know someone as Miguel, since I did feel well welcomed at this environment. Obrigado pa, tmj!!

I LOVED my time here with the other volunteers, if you want to learn to surf this is a great place to be. The waves are good for beginners and there's a surf school next door. The work is easy and reasonable, you can get by in the town without Portuguese but the social scene is all Portuguese.

The experience was just as I expected: the work was easy and rarely reached 4 hours, the atmosphere in the the guest house was very friendly, the town was peaceful and the nature breathtaking. I would recommend to anyone wanting to truly relax, get in touch with nature and live at a slow pace. What made the experience wonderful were the other volunteers I worked with and the guests staying at the house, which of course is not permanent but they deserve a shout-out. The one drawback is that while the work is short, you might be expected to be available during the day to check in the guests.

Overall, I did not enjoy my stay. I left after 3 nights. The pick up was supposed to be in the guest house but he changed the plans 1 hour before for Costa Nova (10 minutes by car), so it took me 5 hours instead of 1 to arrive at the meeting point. I didn't feel welcome, he hardly spoke to me and I had no information to know if anyone was going to sleep at the the guest house or not. In addition, I do not recommend going there out of season because there is literally no one in the the guest house and in the village. I suppose that in summer there is more entertainment and travelers.
