The lodge is a beautiful place with stunning views. It's a 20 min walk from the small village of Azpeitia and a good place if you like to work hard. Ana, the owner, buys plenty of food for the volunteers and has a nice big vegetable/fruit garden that you can pick what you want at anytime. It's hard cleaning work but if you manage to talk to Ana and organize your schedule, hours, benefits, etc, you'll get a good deal. We sleep in comfortable beds in a shared room in the garage with bathroom, air conditioning, fan and we can wash our clothes at anytime. Ana, her kids and mother were lovely :)

Important to know this experience is mostly focused on heavy cleaning tasks, especially dust removal under beds/furniture and cleaning toilets. The amount of dust was difficult for me due to my allergy. The room is mixed, with 3 beds and no windows, so ventilation is limited. Schedule changes were frequent, making it hard to plan trips on days off. Food also became limited after a week, especially protein options. I wouldn't recommend it for people seeking cultural exchange with the host family, as interaction was minimal. Better for people comfortable with isolation and who likes to clean.

Raúl had previously accepted the conditions and duties of the volunteer program, which for years has focused mainly on cleaning and maintenance of the rural house. We regret that the experience was not suitable for him, although during his stay there were also many difficulties on his part: frequent physical complaints and basic tasks left unfinished. We always try to maintain a respectful and clear environment with all volunteers...

My stay at the lodge was very tranquil and peaceful. Ana was very accommodating to anything I needed as a guest in her home and I enjoyed our time together. The experience was nice overall and the little towns are cute but there's not much really happening. It's good to disconnect from big cities and tourists and connect with nature. Great for biking around. Don't hesitate to contact me for further details.

It was a fantastic experience! Ana and her whole family are very nice people, I learned a lot during this month there. The hotel is located in a very picturesque place, in the heart of the Basque Country. Ten minutes on foot is the small but very beautiful city of Azpeitia; from there it's easy to reach other cities, and don't forget to buy the MUGI transit card! If you want to know how the hotel sector works, get to know Basque culture, learn a few words in Basque, visit beautiful cities and go hiking in the mountains— the accommodation is an excellent place for that!

My experience in the accommodation was very positive and enriching! A special place, surrounded by nature, tranquility and close to the village. Ana is a very good host, attentive and open to dialogue! I felt included from day 1, with her family, learning words in Basque, getting to know places and local customs. There are many tasks and varied, but for the most part you can go at your own pace. Ana is flexible regarding schedules/days, respecting what was agreed previously.
