My time at the hostel was an amazing adventure. I met so many wonderful people and got to explore a lot of beautiful places (although I have to admit, getting around without a car can be a bit difficult). The work itself was simple, and the atmosphere was always relaxed, friendly, and felt like a little family. Patrick and Nikki really care about making sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable. I will definitely never forget my time in the Scottish Highlands! 💚

I loved my stay in the highlands at the hostel! It was my first volunteer experience. Drum is a very small village so I would take that into consideration of you are thinking about going to the highlands, but people are very very nice, you can get to a lot of places with the bus and the landscapes are spectacular!. The work in the hostel was fair in exchange for what you get, and Nikki and Patrick were very welcoming, approachable and very easy to reach ! Would 100% recommend!

I had an amazing time here !! I felt right at home in the hostel. We had a great team and I loved spending my evenings with the other volunteers. The amount of work is very reasonable. We had plenty of time to explore the Highlands and I've completely fallen in love with the area. ((considering moving fr)) It's very easy to hitchhike everywhere around. The locals are very kind and welcoming. Don't be put off by the requirement for long-term availability; you'll want to extend anyway ;) Thank you again for everything !! I can't wait to come back. <3 See you very very soon ! :)

This was my first volunteering experience and it was completely mind blowing! Definitely beginner friendly, Patrick and Nikki were awesome, same as other volunteers with me. I had such a fun time there, practising communication skills, a lot of free time to explore and meet locals AND other travellers staying in the hostel. It was my first time volunteering and was totally amazing, Patrick and Nikki were so welcoming from day one and I always felt included, the work was clear and pretty easy to do, not too hard or too much. Patrick and Nikki were always checking in and helping when needed and the other volunteers were great. I enjoyed the many walking trails you can take from the hostel and the general calmness of the town, overall a great experience that I 100% recommend

Patrick and Nikki are AMAZING! 10/10 Worldpackers experience. We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived, and the work expectations were always clear and reasonable. The hosts put a lot of effort into making guests and volunteers alike feel at home, and the effects were certainly felt. We loved getting to know the other Worldpackers and spending our off time exploring nature. Definitely a calm, rural getaway where we were able to take things slow. Thank you the hostel!!! <3 <3 <3

Peaceful, warm and adventurous experience. Drumna is beautiful, plenty of cottages, trees and flowers. the hostel is close and lots of hiking with stunning views. Working hours respected, never feel stressing, and I enjoyed gardening a lot. Patrick and Nikki are wonderful people, they are super attentive and open, they will make you feel part of the hostel family from the first moment, I feel grateful for the time together. I also had a great time playing with Dougal the dog and shared wonderful moments with my fellow volunteers. Truly home special in the highlands :)

I have no words to describe what this summer here has meant to me. Nikki and Patrick are wonderful, always supportive and willing to help. The hostel is so well organized that working hours just fly by. I was lucky to share this experience with amazing volunteers who are now friends. The village is surrounded by beautiful trails, the people are lovely, and Inverness is very close, with plenty of places to explore on days off. I absolutely loved my time at the hostel. Nikki and Patrick are amazing, I immediately felt at home and a part of the team. Hours and tasks are very manageable and there's always someone around to ask questions if you need help. The lodge itself is very cozy and cleaning is taken very seriously. The location is great and the views are amazing. It's close enough to Inverness for a nice getaway on days off and the locals are very nice.

Nikki and Patrick were extremely welcoming and gracious hosts during my stay in Drum, with the work tasks being very clear and reasonable, the work hours/shifts being respected and the work schedule flexible and planned out far in advance. Places to eat and buy some groceries are within walking distance, while the closest city with cheaper options is a 25 minute drive away. Drum is a great spot for people looking for a quiet escape from city life, the hostel and a base for great hikes, would recommend :)
