The Experience

Volunteers can help with general maintenance of the smallholding, feeding, fencing, tractor maintenance and hay making in late summer. We also have a large garden so grass cutting , cutting back, weeding and some digging. We need to do some regular maintenance in the house so general diy, painting etc. We also have a never ending round of poo pickup from the Alpaca's We would love someone who was handy with mechanics, we have older tractors.

The experience was amazing! Suzie and Chris are a warm couple living a cozy farm life. It was a great pleasure for us to meet them and volunteer with them and the talks we had with them was heartwarming

A peaceful little haven wrapped in nature, trading city rush for calm farm life. Suzie & Chris are warm souls who care for every creature with all their heart. You can't get enough of their kindness and wisdom. Roles were clear from day one, work was easy, and days off always respected. They cooked yummy meals daily, shared British culture, and even packed lunchboxes and special diet meals on our days off. It's remote, so just relax, enjoy the green views, bike around the village, or play with sweet Buddie. Suzie and Chris, may all the love you give come right back to you! Truly recommended!

I spent two months in the farm, in which not only what was agreed was respected but they always supported me so that I had a better stay. The work is focused on farm activities, however, it's not heavy. I want to emphasize the dinners since they were always very tasty. Although the house is not located specifically inside a villa, there are many places, both historical and forests to visit.I really leave very happy and truly grateful for everything I could live being there but without Su and Chris, I wouldn't have been able to do many things. SU AND CHRIS, MAY LIFE GIVE YOU THE BEST✨🥹

So thankful for my time at the farm! I was able to learn more about what a small farm lifestyle is like, ate amazing food everyday, and was able to explore more around Dumfries & Galloway! Suzie and Chris are very easy-going and even pack you lunches on days you wish to explore. I made incredible memories that I will carry for a lifetime, and hope to see everyone, including Buddy, Big Cat and Piggly-Wiggly again soon!

Chris and Suzie are wonderful hosts and I highly recommend coming here if you want to spend some time away from normal life stress. The tasks are never too challenging, the food is delicious, the evenings by the fire are very relaxing, and the nature is beautiful. They are very flexible with the free time and Chris even made me packed lunches whenever i took a day off. Thank you guys for this amazing experience :))
