I really enjoyed my stay at the guest house! The host was away during my visit, so unfortunately we didn't meet in person, but he was always friendly and helpful through WhatsApp. I originally came to help with social media, but other volunteers were already working on it, so we easily worked something out and I helped with reception instead. The property is lovely, the cats are very friendly, and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed. I especially loved staying in San Lucas Tolimán and experiencing a quieter, more authentic side of Lake Atitlán. I'm grateful for my time here!

We had a great experience at the guest house. The house is beautiful and full of personality. San Lucas Toliman is one of the true local towns around the lake and we felt immersed in the Guatemalan culture straight away. We had the chance to meet Andrés and he's a very welcoming and friendly soul. I really recommend it :)

I had a wonderful time at the guest house. The town is not very touristy, which makes it perfect for an authentic local experience. While it may not be the right place for those who are looking for a nightlife and international restaurants. The host and the other volunteers became like a second family to me. I had a private room, which I really appreciated. The host generously covered all the grocery costs and we prepared our own meals. I'm very grateful for this experience and would highly recommend it to open-minded travellers looking for genuine cultural immersion.

Volunteering at the guest house is really, really good and enjoyable! You feel like home! The host is extremely friendly and welcoming and the house is really calm and beautiful. Related to meals, there is a food box and you prepare your own food. Work is really chilling and the host is open to receive proposals of different tasks. San Lucas is a special town, authentic and with less tourists than other towns around the lake. I highly recommend volunteering here! In a while you get engaged with the place!

I liked • family atmophere with owners, volunteers, guests; a meal together every day is 👍🏼😃 • cleaning/bed done very well by other employee • exciting tasks for me: gardening (I ♥️), organizing spaces, welcoming guests, creative arts/painting (done by others, not me), improving house & common spaces • kitchen very well equipped • for me it's a luxury hostel, comfortable beds, big rooms, clean & big bathrooms (hot water); super quiet (during the night) • relaxed village, few tourist, friendly locals • trails to volcanos or miradors • local markets 3x/week, around the corner I ❤️ it

I had an excellent experience with Andrés, Kayla, and the other volunteer Elena. The lake nearby is beautiful, San Lucas Toliman itself is one of the least touristy towns on the lake which is lovely. Everyone there is very welcoming, really friendly. Felt very safe there despite having been warned about other parts of Guatemala compared to Costa Rica (where I'd been just before). Gladys and Myra, the two houseladies, both treated me so well and it was great to practice my Spanish with them. Would have stayed longer if my coffers were deep enough...

The guest house was truly an amazing place to start my solo traveling and volunteering journey! The house itself is gorgeous, cozy and inviting. The people make it even better! It is a great place to become part of a community from which you'll learn, grow and make once in a life time memories! Thank you for everything casa Q!

The guest house was the perfect choice for my first world packers experience- everyone made me feel so at home and I met so many incredible people during my stay there. Since a lot of of the staff and guests only speak Spanish, it's a great place to learn/practice the language. I also learned so much about the local culture and got to enjoy the incredible lake Atitlán, which I ended up staying at for 2 additional weeks because I loved it so much. Both the town and the house are definitely more of a cozy/peaceful vibe (rather than party) but can be high pace depending on the amount/type of guests.

It was a joy to have you as part of our team, Claire. Your contribution to the collective work was truly supportive. It's always a delight when someone with your skills and commitment also has a place in your heart for the furry members of the community! Thank you for the love shared with Ix and Qatzij. We look forward to your future visits and again, deep gratitude for all your help, andrés

I had a great time at the guest house! Keep in mind that San Lucas is a town where there are lots of hikes and places to swim but not very dynamic evening life. If you want a more chill experience and meet local people this is the place for you

I had the best time in the guest house!! The 2 weeks I've been there were very relaxing and helped me learn more about social media. Andrés is such a warm-hearted person and the whole team made me feel welcomed since the beginning! I also loved to go on walks with their dog the guest house and I enjoyed every meal we had together as a family :) In general I can really recommend this volunteering for everyone. Thank you for having me !
