The Experience

We’re an Italian/English family of four who moved from England to Val d’Ossola, northern Italy. Our old country house is full of character (and chaos!). We’d love to host couples to help with painting, household tasks, childcare, and some driving (licence needed). We have 3 pets, and in summer you may have the house for pet care for a week.

Had an amazing stay with Sara, Russ, the kids, and the two dogs. They were very welcoming from the start, and there wasn't one moment throughout my stay where I didn't feel included. They took me along with them to regular family activities in the most beautiful towns and environments, where I was able to meet other local families and friends and chat with them. They gave me flexibility with the hours I worked, allowing me to go off and explore the beautiful hikes in the surrounding valleys. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

Our stay with Sara and her family was truly enriching. From the beginning we felt warmly welcomed and well taken care of. Sara is kind, warm, and thoughtful, and together with Russ, Linda, Kaido, and Muttley 🐕they make a wonderful family. We helped with tasks such as painting a room 🎨, working in the garden 🍅, cleaning, organizing, and playing with Kaido. Living in Naviledo also gave us the chance to explore the Ossola Valley in depth and discover beautiful mountain places 🏞️. We leave with valuable memories and highly recommend this stay. 😊💜

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Staying with Sara and her family was such a special experience! From the very beginning, they made me feel incredibly welcome. They're easygoing, respectful, and genuinely fun to be around. I never felt like just a volunteer; they included me in everything, from social events to river days, walks, and hikes to the lake. The house is surrounded by stunning mountains and breathtaking views that made every day feel magical. I 100% recommend this experience to anyone looking for a meaningful and heartwarming stay

Sara and her family are so welcoming that they make you feel at home. The children are kind and cheerful, and it's truly a great opportunity to be close to the mountain nature, improve both your English and Italian, and connect with the local community. They are very helpful, and I'm very grateful for the experience!

Staying at Sara's house and sharing her family's daily life was an unforgettable experience. She has a way of making you feel at home, always welcoming, kind, and ready to help. Our meals were filled with great conversations and delicious food she lovingly prepared. Linda and Kaido are such special kids—sweet, smart, and full of warmth. The city, surrounded by mountains, has amazing trails, and we explored them together. We shared adventures, meals, and a real sense of community. I leave with a heart full of gratitude and the hope of seeing them again soon!
