The Experience

We are a family with a baby and a child, living in the middle of the forest, we bought a huge land to start a community project. There is a river bordering the land and a waterfall near. We have a lot of fruit trees and several constructions. We enjoy practicing yoga, meditation, and taking walks in nature (but we don't practice it everyday). Our house is situated 7km from Puertomingalvo by contry road. We have two horses, and two dogs.

This was my first time volunteering, and it was a great experience that I'll always be grateful for! Borja and Julia are kind and interesting people who have a lot of valuable knowledge to share. The tasks were varied, which made every workday exciting, and I learned a lot! Julia and Borjas way of communicating also made me feel safe and respected. I found the project very meaningful, and I think their vision for the place is beautiful. The surrounding nature was incredible, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a closer connection to nature! Food was also 10/10! Thank you!

Borja and Júlia welcomed me with open arms! I had a beautiful experience in the mountains of Puertomingalvo. You can feel the divine within the property :) A few things to keep in mind if you volunteer here: you have the simple luxuries of life. It's a great opportunity to disconnect to reconnect, with the land and yourself. You'll have a bit of a walk to the toilet and leave the property maybe once or twice a week depending on their plans. So grab everything you want/need ahead of time!

Borja and Julia were lovely hosts with lovely children. I unfortunately had to leave a few days into my trip, and they gave me time off work to visit the waterfall before I left, and drove me to Castellon on their way to Valencia. The area is remote, I wouldn't wanna walk with luggage to Puertomingalvo, so plan your departure accordingly. The area is beautiful, total peace and quiet in the countryside. Facilities were composting toilet, outdoor shower, and tent with a mattress. We weren't expected to play with the girls if we didn't want to but I loved running around after them :)

It was truly a special exerience to help Júlia and Borja with their project. They are a really inspiring family and I could learn a lot for life and for myself during the stay. It's a great place to connect with nature and you can feel such a good energy there, it's magical! The work was quite interesting - it was fun to learn new things and help in the garden, the forest or the household. And I really enjoyed playing with Aneka and Leia, they are soo adorable!! It was also great that there were 2 other volunteers from Sweden during my stay to spend the free time together. :) Muchas gracias!!
