Christine and everyone staying with her were infinitely welcoming to me!! It was such a privilege to eat such healthy food while also being a part of the people who contribute to that food's growth. I was so comforted to see the community that Christine supports - in my personal experience with the women I know in my culture it's been rare to see so many female friendships last so long. I respect these women I met so very much for their ever strong playfulness and curiosity, thank you to Christine for introducing me to them along with the young girls I met of course!!!
Thank you <3

I loved my experience with Christine. She lives in a beautiful place, she has beautiful cats and a beautiful heart! I loved when she took us to her dancing classes, where we danced the traditional French dance!

She also took us to amazing places near her village, we visited castles and rivers !!

I would not say that the language is a barrier, since she makes a huge effort to understand us, with lots of dictionaries at her house… besides this, she is the best French listener hahaha, since she can understand all of my “wrong French”. I loved this. God bless you, Christine.

It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with someone as wonderful as Christine! I experienced unforgettable moments during this journey. Christine is a truly kind and caring person, always willing to help and offer support whenever needed. She is also flexible, understanding, and very easy to get along with. I am very grateful for the opportunity to have met her and worked with her. Thank you for making this experience so special!

Christine is a very kind person and an amazing host. Her place is just as calm and peaceful as she is and Im very grateful that I could live with her for a little while. From the first minute I felt very welcome and though out the whole stay Christine took very good care of me. I got to meet some of her amazing friends and she took me to see many nearby villages. The food was always delicious, hours as agreed - and I learned soo much! Yes, knowing french is an advantage, but I had an amazing time and I dont speak french at all! Overall I had a great experience! I recommend this stay 100%!!!

It was a great time in Christine's house. She kindly invited me and I experienced so many new things. She has a respect to people of course, but also animals and to the surrounding nature. I liked how she makes a lot of things to eat and I was able to try so many homemade French cuisines! It was a little difficult sometimes to communicate since I speak better in Japanese and Christine in French, but still it was fun talking with her about cultural differences and about a good life. I met a lot of Christine's friends as well, and it was better if I improved my French to understand them.

I had a great time with Christine, the area was beautiful and it was great to meet her friends. She doesn't eat very much and she doesn't eat a lot of protein either so I was pretty hungry. The work wasn't too difficult but being hungry made it a little more challenging. I would be prepared to get yourself some snacks. Other than that I had a wonderful time, and I felt welcomed from the start.

Christine is such a kind soul and I immediately felt welcomed when I arrived. There's always something to do whether it was visiting nearby villages, going to markets, dancing, hiking or meeting one of her many friends. I recommend learning some French to get to know Christine and her friends better. She's an interesting person and we got to have a lot of great conversations. The work isn't that difficult especially if you're used to landscaping and you get a lot of free time. I was well fed and well taken care of. Her house is so cozy and I loved staying there. I hope to come back again soon!

Christine is a really nice lady. Her home is cozy; however, the bedroom door doesn't lock and there isn't a door to the bathroom but instead just a curtain. Also it can get hot in the bedroom since there is no AC. Work mainly consisted of gardening. I loved the scenery of Southern France and the places that Christine took me to. Be aware though that she might have you do extra stuff on top of your 20 hours. For example, she made me wash her car and do dishes. It was an overall good experience.

I had an incredible time at Christine's! She made me feel very welcome from the beginning! I was able to meet a lot of her friends, try new food, and see the surrounding villages and areas! If you are not used to farm/garden work it may be difficult for you but I had a blast. I would recommend to learn some French so that you can better connect with Christine as well as all the people you will get to meet! Also the accommodation was very cozy and I loved staying in her home. I 100% plan on coming back when I can.

The first week was good. She’s a kind person, but in the second week we had a few miscommunications that were made larger because of our language barrier and that created a tension within the house and between us. In the second week there were also multiple occasions where the agreed upon hours, as per worldpackers, were fully exceeded and she tried to lie about the added hours. Thus my second week was not a good exchange. I thank her for having me and the meeting of her friends and neighbors was pleasant.

I think the language barrier wasn't the main obstacle; for me it's mainly that we didn't share the same values enough and that we lacked affinities, that's the way it is; the randomness of encounters!
All the best to you as well.
