The house is located on 3,000 meters of land, mainly Mediterranean scrub, in a village of scattered houses in southern Sardinia. I had a wonderful experience living in a peaceful and beautiful Sardinian village and getting close to local life. My tasks included gardening, planting, cutting branches, and sometimes helping with meals. I enjoyed delicious homemade food with lots of olive oil, sunny days, and quiet nights. Elisabetta is energetic, talkative, and full of personality — sometimes a bit emotional, but always interesting and fun to be around. We visited local festivals, met her friends, and even learned Indian dance together. It was a truly unique and memorable experience.

This is a great chance to enjoy organic food and nature while helping with light chores like gardening. It felt more like staying with family than a formal work arrangement—so to my fellow introverts, don’t be intimidated!
Note: The location is quite remote (a 2+ hour walk to the nearest town). I regretted renting a standard bicycle; I highly recommend a motorcycle or at least an e-bike, as the roads can be dangerous. Also, while the host speaks some English, knowing basic Italian is essential for smooth communication. It was a wonderful experience despite the challenges!

I really loved my stay with Elizabeth. I learnt new skills and had the chance to experience authentic sardinian culture. She lives in a beautiful area, if you like walking, there is fantastic scenery and views all around. I would recommend staying with Elizabeth, she is kind and understanding :)

Elisabetta is a nice person that is always excited yo share her Sardo culture with you. She is very passionate, as a good Sardinian, and that sometimes comes as too strong but she means well and is nice. Just know that this work is mostly helping her around the house and garden with chores that are becoming too difficult for her. It's not a fancy work exchange experience but you do get to enjoy a beautiful setting in the mountains with the ocean on the horizon (and occasional trips there!). Very flexible schedule and relaxed atmosphere :)

My journey at Elisabetta's house was amazing, I will always remember it. She made me feel so comfortable from the day 1, we had so much fan together, we ate good food, had deep conversations about life, visited some places and worked on her house projects. Elisabetta is such an amazing person, she's very kind and she always tries to make sure that the volunteer is on the best conditions. I definitely recommend living this experience with her.
